This week’s campus celebrity is the lovely Andie Taney. Even though she is only a freshman, Andie is destined to great things during her time at UC. She has such a positive outlook on life and a sense of humor that can turn anyone’s horrible day into a great one. In addition to her infectious smile and quick-witted comebacks, Andie is one of the most compassionate people who looks out for the well-being of others. This compassion is what formed the platform of her dream to become a nurse.

Why did you pick UC?
A great Nursing program and I have been going to the games since I was little.
What made you want to become a nurse?
My grandma used to live with us and she was always sick so I had to take care of her and I really enjoyed helping her. I saw the way nurses in the hospital helped her and brightened her day and I really wanted to be there for people the way they were for her.
What are your career goals?
Working with children at a hospital.
How has being in a sorority impacted your life so far?
Gamma Phi has really made an impact in my life so far. Coming to college I didn’t know a lot of people, and Gamma Phi introduced me to a lot of people and made me get involved in a lot of amazing experiences that I am so grateful for.
What is your favorite type of sushi?
Shrimp tempera roll
