Let’s be real. The scariest thing about Halloween this year is the pandemic. This is especially true if you LOVE Halloween like I do. Here are some ideas to still have fun this holiday season while being safe.

1. Have a movie night

Invite a few (remember to keep it under 10 people!) of your friends over and have a movie night! They don’t even have to be Halloween movies! However, if you want them to be, some of the best ones are Scream, Beetlejuice, Halloween Town, and Edward Scissorhands.

2. Make cookies

Making cookies is my go to for any night in. You can get the Break and Bake Halloween cookies, or make some from scratch. Here’s a link to 41 delicious Halloween Cookie recipes.

3. Have a costume contest

Dressing up is my all-time favorite part about Halloween. What I’m doing this year is having a few friends over and having everyone vote on who has the best costume. Another way to make this even more fun is to post everyone’s costumes on your Instagram story and let your followers vote.

4. Carve pumpkins

Carving pumpkins is a Halloween classic. This is another great thing to turn into a competition with a few close friends. Staying inside and carving your favorite characters into pumpkins is a great way to stay safe this Halloween, just be careful with the knives.

5. Take Buzzfeed quizzes

Almost every night I find myself in a rabbits hole of Buzzfeed quizzes. I don’t know what compels me to need to know what I should dress up as for Halloween based on my zodiac sign, but here is a link to all of the Buzzfeed Halloween quizzes!
