An Ode to Bill Nye

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chatham chapter.

Bill Nye is coming back with a new Netflix show, Bill Nye Saves the World for all your Netflix and Bill needs. The series is designed to combat popular myths about science, and will be taking on topics such as climate change. To celebrate, I’ve compiled ten of my favorite moments that show what Bill’s been up to since Bill Nye the Science Guy ended.

10. When he apologized to a fan for not naming his book UndeNYEable.

9. When Last Week Tonight with John Oliver presented a Statistically Representative Climate Change Debate.

8. When he told CNN live on air to “knock yourselves out” over their climate change denying meteorologist while also interviewing him about the effects of climate change.

7. When he pointed out to Ken Ham that there are trees older than the Bible says the Earth is.

6. When he was on Dancing With the Stars and dressed up as Albert Einstein.

5. When he and Neil deGrasse Tyson hung out on a roof

4. When he slayed as a model at New York Fashion Week while also showing his nerdy side by shouting out any Vulcans who may have been watching

3. When he got adorably excited about traveling forward in time by… sitting still and waiting for time to pass.

2. Every time he calls out climate change deniers and makes them face facts (bonus points for when he does it with graphs!)

1. And, finally, when he announced that he would be coming back to televisions near you with Bill Nye Saves the World.

That’s right, Bill Nye is back and we’re all the better for it. But it isn’t just what Bill does that’s important, it’s what he believes in. He wants to spread positivity about science and about respecting the planet, which are messages we should all internalize.
