Year: Class of 2015
Hometown and Your Favorite Thing About It: Pittsburgh, PA. I love Pittsburgh! Go Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates!!! There is so much to do in Pittsburgh, and I love how much people who live here cherish their city! Nothing beats a good ol’ trip to the Strip District on a Saturday morning!
Areas of Study and How You Chose Them: Biology major with a minor in Political Science. I am super interested in the human body and medicine. I want to be a doctor or physician’s assistant someday. All the functions the body can do just really fascinate me. I also like advocating for public policy issues, many of which interrelate with medicine. In my head, it makes sense!
Favorite Book: The Hunger Games Series
Favorite Movie: Tie—Bridesmaids and The Devil Wears Prada
Favorite Musician/Band: Florence and The Machine
Favorite TV Show: The Bachelor/Bachelorette, oh and House Hunters International
Extracurricular Activities: Student Government, Scholars, Chatham Admissions Board, Orientation Leader, and I am starting my own club: Naturality!
What did you do this summer?
This summer I traveled all across the United States. I went to Disney World, St. Augustine (Florida), Lake Erie, Columbus, Atlanta, and Northern Michigan. I love traveling. I also worked at Vera Bradley, did the Color Run, volunteered at Passavant hospital, shadowed a physician’s assistant, and attended a national of the LeaderShape institute. Woah! Oh, and I crafted. A bunch.
Favorite Summer 2012 Memory: Another tie—going to the Dave Matthews Concert with my pals Jenny and Taylor and watching the sunset with my family at a bonfire on Lake Michigan.
What are you most looking forward to in the new semester? I am so psyched about starting my club Naturality, which is all about healthy living. Oh, and I can’t wait to take painting!
Ultimate Friday Night: My ultimate Friday night would be going out to dinner with my girls in Squirrel Hill for sushi and then coming back to the ham of chat for board games, a movie, and lots of giggles.
Childhood Dream Job: dance teacher
Current Dream Job: orthopedic surgeon, philanthropist
Favorite Thing About Chatham: I love how Chatham is nice and small. I feel I have a relationship with all my professors, and I feel comfortable approaching them with any questions. At Chatham, I am not a number! Cougars Rawr!!!!
