Year: Sophomore

Hometown and your favorite thing about it: Natrona Heights, My favorite thing about it is it is small. Everyone knows everyone and my family and friends are here. I love coming home and seeing my biggest support system.

Areas of study and how you chose them: Professional Communications with a double focus in Journalism and Public Relations with a minor in Political Science. I have always wanted to be a journalism major. You tell people the news and important things that impact their everyday lives. Public Relations also is something that interests me because it makes you involved with something you normally feel really passionately about.

What is your favorite thing to write about? I love to write news stories. I love writing news stories about political candidates and elections.  Outside of news stories I love looking at pictures online and writing a story about how I think the picture came about.

Favorite Book: Anything by Nicolas Sparks. The biographies of Walter Cronkite and Katie Couric were two books that really inspired me to become a journalist.

Favorite Musician/Band:
Elton John, Justin Bieber

Favorite TV Show: Glee, Desperate Housewives, and Scrubs

Favorite Movie: Rent, How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days

Favorite Food: Chinese

On-campus involvement: Stay Positive Campaign, Resident Assistant, Communications work study, and Alumni Relations student assistant

What do you hope to do with the Stay Positive Campaign next year? I hope to create a group that is a “safe zone” for students and help students realize that every situation has a positive side. No matter what is going on in someone’s life, it always gets better.

Childhood Dream Job: As a child I wanted to be a ballerina but there is a picture of me laying on my tummy in front of my television watching CNN, after seeing the picture over and over again throughout my life, I have always wanted to be an anchor on CNN.

Current Dream Job: My current dream job is to anchor at CNN after I become the Public Relations professional at a university or somewhere I feel passionately about.

Why you chose Chatham: I transferred here in the Fall of 2011. I chose Chatham because it was small and the first time I toured everyone seemed really caring and supportive. The campus seemed really inviting and special. It also offered a lot of opportunities that many other campuses did not offer.
