How To Be An Adult: A Cheatsheet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chatham chapter.

Alright folks, it’s time. It’s time to adult. We know this is hard, but luckily we’ve assembled all the tools for you. So, BEHOLD: our adulting cheatsheet! Deep breath. Here we go…

Andrews McMeel Publishing – “The Roommate Book”

It’s a pretty well known fact that adulting is hard, but so is having a roommate. Maybe you’re an only child. Maybe you have siblings, but you’ve always had your own space. In any event, heading into college or even apartment hunting often involves finding a roommate and learning to share your space with (often) a stranger. Even if you room with a friend, there’s always the chance that you won’t mesh the same as roomies the way you do as friends. “The Roommate Book” is your go-to guide of tips, pie charts, hypotheticals, illustrations, and more. Not to mention, it’s just plain fun to read!

Maidenform – Maidenform Love the Lift® Push Up & In Satin Demi Bra OR Maidenform Love the Lift® Push Up & In Lace Demi Bra

FIND A BRA THAT FITS. We cannot stress this enough. Love yourself and respect your body. Make sure you’re wearing a bra that properly fits you and it will change your life forever. You’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Personally, we love Maidenform bras. Not only are they cute AF, they’re also COMFY AF. What’s not to love? You look good, you feel good, you live better. Maidenform’s motto is “Sexy. Spirited. Confident.” and we support that 100%.

Monistat & AZO – MONISTAT Complete Care Instant Itch Relief Cream and AZO Cranberry® Gummies

On the topic of loving your body: Watch. Your. Health. Yes, down there too. Make sure you’re keeping an eye out for UTIs and yeast infections. Because if there’s one thing that will absolutely ruin your day, it’s finding out you have a yeast infection or UTI. And with fast, easy aids like Monistat’s Complete Care Instant Itch Relief Cream and AZO’s Urinary Tract Health Gummies, there’s no excuse for not taking care of yourself.

Wearsafe – Wearsafe Adventure Box, including Wearsafe Tags and 6 months of Wearsafe service

One thing that will change you forever and help you become mature is travel. Whether you’re studying abroad, doing mission work, or just traveling for the sake of traveling, there’s something about seeing the world that makes you wiser, braver, and stronger. And while traveling can be a bit scary sometimes, Wearsafe is here to make sure your safety is one less thing to worry about. Wearsafe connects you to your family and loved ones should you ever find yourself in a natural disaster or national crisis. This way, the people important to you know that you’re safe. That’s right mom, I PROMISE I’m safe and sound.

Andrews McMeel Publishing – “Adulthood is a Myth”

From the same publisher who brought us “The Roommate Book,” comes “Adulthood is a Myth”–the most important message to keep in mind when trying to adult. Adulting is hard and sometimes we need to sit back, relax, and laugh. With that in mind, comic artist Sarah Andersen brings us “Adulthood is a Myth” to share relatable, laughable moments in adult life–from washing bras to dealing with relationships to tackling self-consciousness, Sarah covers it all.
