“Sustainability can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and I’m not necessarily as concerned about telling students what I think that word should mean as I am concerned about…having them come up with what they think that word should mean.ā€

-Dr. Katie Cruger, Communications Professor and HC Chatham Faculty Advisor

Ā

ā€œIt’s easy to get interested about most topics if the student’s interested.ā€

-Kate Wenger, Reference Librarian

Ā

ā€œTo me music is more ā€˜just for me.’ I am not a person that would ever audition for American Idol. I don’t really see myself as a performer; I am actually pretty shy. With music, and I guess also with my experience in pageants, I do not get up in front of people unless what I’m doing really means something to me.ā€

-Stevie Greek, Chatham Choir President and Mason-Dixon Fair Queen 2011

Ā

ā€œI really want to make sure when I perform, I hope I’m a good advocate for women. I want to inspire women to know that you can make things happen, you can be awesome and amazing as long as you just really work hard and…don’t buy anybody’s crap…and listen to your heart…and you’ll get where you want to be.ā€

-Melissa Villasenor, Comedian

Ā

ā€œI am all about connecting people with good, with truth, with love, with positivity, with hope. I’m all about connecting people one song at a time, one melody at a time.ā€

-Singer/Songwriter Nelson Emokpae

Ā

ā€œI was that kid you couldn’t get out of the sandbox.ā€

-Martha Matthews, Ceramicist, Psychologist, and Teacher
