Join Chatham University’s Artist Collective for Extraction, a night of spoken word, live music, and visual art – essentially, an art extravaganza!

By definition, “extraction” is a noun meaning “the action of taking out something.” Even this word’s definition varies across fields. Say it to a dentist, and they will think you’ll want your tooth pulled out. Say it to a chemist, and they will wonder what solute they are trying to separate. Say it to a troop, and they will think you need to be removed from a hostile area. But say it at the event Extraction, and everyone will know what you are talking about.

At Extraction, people take back the night. Everyone celebrates the sense of being through every kind of art imaginable. Indeed, Extraction is “the culminating project of everything we envision and value about the artist community” as past co-president and founder Sally Ramirez said. We give “extraction” a whole new meaning.

But, don’t just read about Extraction – you have to be there to believe it.

Extraction is happening on Thursday, March 27th in the Welker Room from 8:00pm – 11:00pm!

I am a college sophomore double-majoring in math and biology. Some of my hobbies include doodling, juggling, orienteering, martial arts, reading, and writing short stories. In the future, I see myself experimenting with more activities. And, if you take my derivative, you'd probably find that I'm infinite~! -My art portfolio is located on my website (www.poparu.com), which is updated on a monthly basis. It shows my progress from freshman year (9th grade) to present.
