Miss Candlelight? We’ve got you covered. Here’s the recap:

(Note: All names are listed in the order presented in the program)

  • Ava Lintz (bass) and Amy Chau (viola) kicked things off with a fabulously beautiful performance of “Greensleeves.”
  • The HemiDemiSemiQuavers delivered a seriously incredible trio of tunes:

 “Personet Hodie” (German Melody)

“Carol of the Bells” (Ukranian Carol)

“Home for the Holidays”—with rhythmic snapping from the Choir

  • Roger Zahab (violin), Paula Tuttle (cello) and Pauline Rovkah (piano) brilliantly performed “How to Sing Properly” and a selection from The Nutcracker that had everyone dreaming of sugar plums.

  • The Chatham Choir performed everything from Chanukah songs to Christmas classics. In order:

“Mao tzur” (for the procession in)

“Mi Ze Hidlik (Lights of Chanukah)”—featuring stunning soprano soloists Jessica Snyder and Caroline Frankze

“Who Has Seen the Wind”

“Cantate Domino”

“A Spotless Rose”

“Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella (Old French Carol)”

“Christmas Time is Here”

“Silver Bells (a sing-along!)”

“Wassail Song” (for the procession out)

Students, faculty and administration members gave powerful readings:

Welcome from Dr. Barrazone

“Light Another Candle” by Miriam Chaikin from Dr. Waite

“Vietnamese Tradition” from Payal Patel

“The Shortest Day” by Susan Cooper from Leah Spix

“The Sweetness of Charity” by Maya Angelou from Dr. Colvard

“The Greatest Birthday” by Udiah from Dr. Armesto

“Dust of Snow” by Robert Frost from Gretchen Geibel

“Snow” by Anne Sexton from Dr. Parashner

“‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” by Clement Clark Moore from Dr. Lenz

“A Prayer for Woodland Travelers” from Jessica Snyder

  • Sage Ziviello kicked off the Ceremony of Candle Lighting with a reading. Once every candle was glowing and the lights were dimmed, the entire Chapel joined in a verse of “Silent Night.”
