Whether it’s straight out of a box or eaten at a gourmet restaurant, us girls love our mac and cheese. Somehow it makes the perfect comfort food no matter what we’re feeling. Upset over a guy or dealing with friend drama? Eat some mac and cheese. Stressed about school? Mac and cheese just seems to be the answer to everything. It’s especially nice to eat in the fall and winter cozied up in a knit sweater, leggings and boots.
Here’s a list of my personal favorites to get this American favorite:
1. California Pizza Kitchen
The kids macaroni and cheese here is unlike any other. With its corkscrew shaped pasta and golden creamy cheese it will satisfy your every need.
2. Panera
Now the Panera macaroni and cheese is very different than California Pizza Kitchen. Rather than the corkscrew shape, Panera uses pasta shells coated in a white cheddar sauce and let me tell you now it is incredible. If you’re looking to get the full experience at Panera, order the baguette on the side and dip it in the cheese. What’s a few extra carbs?
3. Corner Bakery
The mac and cheese here is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum. Sprinkled with toasted breadcrumbs on the top and a three cheese blended sauce, this will surely turn your night around.
4. Smoqued BBQ
Luckily this place is just a walk away from campus, located right in the heart of the circle. They get a little fancy too with their hand crafted mac and cheese. Like Corner Bakery, their mac and cheese is topped with a crispy outside and cheesy inside. The difference between the two lies within the fuller flavor of Smoqued BBQ’s cheese.
