Top Four Travel Destinations to Pin to Your Pinterest Board

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

Okay, so I am OBSESSED with Pinterest. I would call myself a Pinterest addict. This is not a joke. I take it very seriously, like it’s my job. It’s my calling, my duty, my purpose…okay that’s a bit much, but you get it. I just really love Pinterest. As an avid traveler, it is the best outlet for me to find incredible places to travel. Speaking of which, here are my top destinations that will make your Pinterest board look like your very own travel magazine.

  1. Santorini, Greece

Santorini just kills me. The contrast of blue and white creates the perfect background for Insta pics. The island is the type of place you’d go to get engaged (I mean, not like you know when that’s going to happen). Santorini is a romantic getaway for couples who just want to eat breakfast in bed, drink cocktails by the pool overlooking the ocean, or have sex (tbh) in bright white sheets as the sun shines through your open balcony windows. And the two main obvious reasons to go to Santorini? To relieve Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and meet a gorgeous Greek guy and fall in love. Or have a reason to sing the entire soundtrack of Mamma Mia at the top of your lungs. Both sound wonderful to me.

  1. Paris, France

Ooh la la! Je t’aime Paris. La Tour Eiffel! C’est très magnifique! Okay, no more French. The city of lights is the most enchanting place in the world. Don’t you just want to hold a chanel purse with a baguette sticking out of it, while in the other hand you eat that croissant you had been craving for two weeks and you are dressed in a sleek black coat as the rain dances over the cobblestone streets? I think yes. When I think of Paris, I think of magic, “looove,” and fashion. The iconic Louvre museum, Versailles (which isn’t directly in paris), and of course, the Eiffel Tower all contribute to the history of wonder throughout the city. I would say Paris and I are in a long distance relationship. We live so far apart, but we love each other endlessly.

  1. Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand

Arguably THE MOST beautiful island, Phi Phi (for short), is the definition of a paradise. Clear blue water, white sand, bright green jungles…what can get better than that? Nothing. The island is both a tranquil, tan by the ocean getaway and also an adventure seeking affair. You can ride elephants in the jungle, take a boat tour around the island, or scuba dive with hundreds of multicolroed fish. This island is too aesthetically pleasing. Perfect for your bikini shots! The relaxation side to the agenda includes, yoga on the beach, lazy walks around around the hotel, photography excursions, and sleeping by the pool. Sorry literally every other country, but Thailand is goals.

  1. Capri, Italy

My personal favorite place to ever exist. Capri is the Beverly Hills of Italy, only ten times more gorgeous and surrounded by the sea. Capri is one giant mountain of narrow, winding pathways leading to stunning bougainvillea covered restaurants overlooking the ocean. It certainly is no cheap venture. The island beholds a mix of locals and wealthy, luxury seeking, yacht owning guests. Beach clubs line the shores and boat tours travel through the famous Faraglioni rocks and to the Blue Grotto caves, where the water glows an iridescent blue. Capri is the city of lemons and gelato, the perfect refreshers for a hot Italian day. Start ringing the wedding bells! (Well don’t because you are still in college and you need to figure out your life). But Capri is wedding mania, the ideal place to say your I Dos on a cliff facing a dazzling pink and orange sunset. Grazie Capri, for being my happy place.
