An Open Letter of Gratitude to My Closest Guy Friends

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

To My Dearest and Closest Guy Friends,

Let’s be honest. Like every other human being in this world, I have many flaws and imperfections. I get overemotional, moody, and complain about silly things that don’t really matter. Since you’ve made it this far as one of my closest guy friends, you’re definitely used to my frequent mood swings, feminist rants, and daily mental breakdowns over school and boys.

There is no doubt in my mind that all of this gets frustrating for you at times, yet you still stick by my side through thick and thin. So while it may not be all too apparent sometimes, I appreciate you a lot and everything you do for me.

For example, when you take the time to share your profound words of wisdom about boys with me,

bring me food when I’m overtired and hungry,

cuddle with me to make me feel better,

pretend to be my boyfriend when that creepy guy at the party approaches,

and somehow always find a way to make me laugh.

So again, thanks a million for everything you do for me. You are, indeed, the real MVP.
