Welcome back to Music Monday! Today I thought I’d take time to spotlight an artist who I personally love and have followed for years. Her name is Katelyn Tarver and I believe that she was destined to produce and sing great music. A rising “it girl” in Los Angeles, Katelyn has learned how to beautifully blend pop and indie beats together with her flawless vocals. Performance wise, she spends a lot of her time in Los Angeles working on her music and putting on occasional live performances in the area. I have been keeping my eye on her tour calendar and I can assure you that the next time she performs, I will definitely be there.

Katelyn Tarver is quickly paving her way in the Los Angeles music scene. With a new album in the works, some recent song collaborations, and two hot new singles, she is truly killin’ it. Did I mention that she’s a singer/songwriter, actress, and a model? It’s fine, I low key aspire to be her. Katelyn has 163,385 monthly listeners on Spotify and 833,088 likes on Facebook and the numbers seem to be rising by the month.

Katelyn was born in Glennville, Georgia and was drawn to Los Angeles for the star potential. She had humble beginnings on the show “American Juniors,” a reality TV singing competition show that was a spinoff of American Idol. The show only lasted for one season, but Katelyn managed to make it to the top ten finalists. After focusing on her signing career for quite some time, she decided to showcase her acting talents on Nickelodeon’s show Big Time Rush from 2010 to 2013. Katelyn is best known for her recurring role on the show as Jo.

During her time on Big Time Rush, Katelyn never fully gave up her music career. While acting, she worked to develop her first EP titled “A Little More Free” which was released on June 14, 2011. That same summer, she joined the band Honor Society on their Wherever We Are tour and opened for the group in June and July of 2011. She went on to tour alongside The Cab and Parachute in the summer of 2012. After these tour collaborations, Katelyn began to focus on her own music career and her personal life. She happily married David Blaise on July 19, 2014 in Los Angeles amongst family and close friends.

With a rising music career, a beautiful wedding, and her singing talents on the rise, Katelyn Tarver began to focus on her new single releases and her upcoming album set to be released late this year or early next year. 2015 and 2016 have been monumental years for the LA singer. She premiered her singles “Nobody Like You” and “Weekend Millionaires” along with a feature on “You” by Lost Kings in 2015. In 2016, she has released “Planez” and “What Do We Know Now” which just premiered on September 23rd. She is also featured on the track “Illegal” by Fareoh which is premiering on October 7th. Amongst her singles, “Weekend Millionaires” and “What Do We Know Now” are some of my favorites and feature fun, dance to, pop beats accompanied by her free flowing and bubbly vocals. Hot tracks, incredible street style, and a continuously rising pop music career make Katelyn Tarver an artist to watch in 2017.
