Josh Nudelman: Future Mr. Everything

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

They say that there are six degrees of separation from you to every other person in the world. As in, you know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone else until finally everyone could potentially know each other. Step foot on to Chapman’s campus, and guarunteed Josh Nudelman is one of those “someones” who knows everyone. Notorious for his sociability and involvement on campus, the Noodle has definitley mastered the art of extroversion and balance. Just a few of the things Josh has dabbled in since beginning his career at Chapman: a national Speech and Debate competitior, running Cross Country, Student Government Association, becoming a founding memer of Phi Delta Theta, and most recently earning the coveted title of Mr. University. Even with all this going on, he found time to sit down with Her Campus and share some words of wisdom.

GS: Who is your biggest inspiration?

JN: Well I want to say Blue Ivy Carter. She has it going on. For a two year old — man she has her life figured out and is going to some killer places. But besides Blue Ivy, I would say that my other inspiration would be my dad. A fun fact is that my initials are JN and are actually the same as my dad’s. If you think I am busy then you haven’t met my dad, he is involved with so many different boards back home and is amazing at his job and still has time to be an amazing dad and role model for me. One of my favorite things to do when home is go on runs with him and discuss politics.

GS: What is your favorite part about Chapman. What is you least favorite part?

JN: There are so many things that I love about Chapman it’s not even funny. But the thing that I like most has to be the window of opportunity that Chapman gives students (throwing a little OA knowledge there). Chapman gives its students so many opportunities to thrive, and gives us the toolkit we need to succeed. Thanks to Chapman, I have been able to participate in so many activities that I would have never in my wildest dreams thought about doing. I actually was texting my mom a few days ago because I found a old picture of me on move in day my freshman year and we both just laughed because if you told me in that moment how much I would do and how much amazing things I would be apart of I wouldn’t have believed it. I also really love all the people here. All the students are so nice and so kind and I have met some of my best friends who I know for 100% certainty will be my friends when I grow up and will be at my wedding and so on.

My least favorite part is that there are so many awesome people, I don’t get to see everyone.

GS: If you could be on any game show, which would it be?

This is a hard one. Secretly I want to be on the Real World because I think it would be fun and because I think America would love a documentation of my life. But the show I would actually be on because I want a future career and don’t want garbage like the Real World following me, would be The Bachelorette. I like camera time and am catch.

GS: How has being so involved at Chapman prepared you for the real world?

Being very involved has helped me in the real world in many different ways. The first is with time management. Due to the fact I am super involved I have became a very organized person. I make sure not to miss assignments, meetings, or even lunch dates. I put things in my schedule and then its there until it gets canceled. Going along the organization and very involved aspect I have also learned when to say no to different things. I know my limits and know how many activities are too much for myself so I make sure that I do not spread myself too thin.

GS: We all know you are super driven. So what are your dreams for after graduation?

My dream job is to be a senator for the state of Oregon. After that, I plan on starting a law firm with my dad: Nudelman and Son. Also I want a big family. These Nudelman genes gotta continue on.

GS: Now for a more serious question: Chipotle or Qdoba? Choose wisely

Qdoba 100%. To be completely honest I am not that big of a Chipolte fan. Whenever I eat Chipolte I end up hating myself later that day and regretting the decision. Qdoba always satisfies my hunger and I never regret eating it.

GS: And lastly, just a fun tidbit that no one knows?

When I bike at night I sing out loud because I know nobody can see me.

I have four policies in life: love hard, eat lots, travel often and always be your own ray of sunshine.
