How We Feel About High School Musical 4

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

Yes, you read that right.

Closely following the ten year reunion on January 20, 2016, (yes it’s been an entire decade since we first met the Wildcats) Disney announced High School Musical 4 on March 1, 2016.

It’s been nearly eight years since we left East High but all three soundtracks are still on loop in our heads.

It’s unlikely that the original cast will return, since they’re all definitely too old now to pass for high schoolers. But fingers crossed for Sharpay as the new drama teacher? Troy replacing his dad as Wildcats basketball coach? PLEASE. Wildcats forever, right?

Not to mention that we definitely need some Troy Bolton back in our lives. *swoon*

The movie will introduce a whole new generation of Wildcats, along with their rivals, the West High Knights. A little West Side Story never hurt anybody, right?

No fear: our beloved Wildcats will be in good hands. Jeffrey Hornaday, director of Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach Movie 2, will be directing and choreographing the new movie. Peter Barsocchini, who wrote all three High School Musical movies, is returning as a screenwriter along with Dan Berendsen, writer of two of our generation’s favorites: Hannah Montana: The Movie and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.

So despite the hundreds of questions running through our heads about the new movie, only one really matters. And even better, we all already know the answer.
