Five Ways To Make Your Bedroom More Personalized

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

Interested in making your room more “you”? Do you have too many blank spaces on your wall or empty spots on your desk where you wish you had decoration, but don’t know what to add? Here are 5 simple ways to give your room some flavor and personalization.

1. One of the best ways to make your room more personalized and feel like your space is through printed pictures. This year I printed 80 pictures from Walgreens for under $15.  80 is a ton of pictures, so basically my whole wall over my bed is filled with images of my friends, family, and pictures from my travels. I love looking at my wall when I’m bored or right before I go to bed. It instantly makes me feel happy. Walgreens makes it super easy to get pictures. You just create an account online and drag and drop the pictures you want to be printed. You can even go to the store within an hour of making the album to pick them up!

2. Get plants! I love putting small plants on my windowsill and desk. They add more color to my room and a little bit of variety! You can get pink cacti at Trader Joes or any outdoor home type place!

3. Get a pumpkin for Halloween!! I got three mini pumpkins at Trader Joes and have them all around my room! They are such a cute and easy way to make your room more personal and festive for the fall season

4. Candles! Get some colorful, big, decorative candles for your room. This adds different kinds of color, a yummy scent, and a beautiful little extra light to your room!

5. Christmas lights! I love hanging up Christmas lights like streamers around my room. It creates a great ambiance when I don’t want to have my lights on, it adds some twinkling color to the room
