Sometimes we all need a vacation. Whether we had a busy week filled with exams or we just want to take an adventure, we all deserve one. With midterms finally finishing up, it’s the perfect time for you and your friends or boyfriend to take a mini road trip. Here are a few places you can visit ranging from 20 miles away to two hours.
1. Balboa Island: Balboa Island has always been a favorite of Southern California natives as well as visitors. Whether you want to take the ferry to the island, take a ride on the colorful Ferris wheel, or taste their famous “balboa bars,” you will no doubt have an amazing time!
2. San Diego: Although this is a longer drive to take, it is most definitely worth it. Just think about driving down the coastline with your friends jamming out to your favorite songs. The best part about San Diego is that there is so much to do there. For example, in La Jolla there’s this beach where you can look out and see adorable seals just relaxing on the soft sand or lying on the rocks.
3. Laguna Beach: Laguna is such a beautiful, exciting beach town. With little boutiques such as LF and Nectar surrounding the narrow streets, it’s the perfect place to shop, dine and relax. If you’re looking for a place to go to with with your girlfriends, look no further.
4. Venice: If you’re looking for a day full of entertainment, this is the place to go. Here you can find street performers doing flips over each other, and singing their hearts out. There’s also an amazing beach located right next to the boardwalk, and if you stay until the end of the day, you’ll see a stunning sunset.
5. Palm Springs: Even though Palm Springs is a far drive, it is one of the most relaxing places you can go. If you’re looking to have a little fun while you’re there, try playing the slots at the 18+ casinos. On the other hand, if you’re looking to just lay back, soak up the sun and really get away from the stress of college, choose Palm Springs.
