10 Adventures to Try this Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

1. Throw a pizza party.

Don’t just buy a pizza, make one! Get the dough, cheese, marinara sauce, and some of your other favorite toppings to create your own pizza right at home. Bonus points if you follow up with a craft-your-own s’mores bar.

2. Have a Polaroid photo shoot.

Take your camera with you on a walk around town. Snap some pictures of your friends and the wild scenes, dreams, and marvelous things you come across. In the end, you’ll have a striking stack of photos, which you can later hang up on your wall or put in a scrapbook.

3. Paint your friend’s room (or your own).

It sounds crazy, but this activity is an absolute blast and is highly entertaining. Make a day out of it. Tip: This will get messy and you will find paint on your body everywhere for the next week, so be prepared.

4. Explore a farmer’s market.

There is a ton of fresh produce in season, which makes this a great opportunity to seek out some healthy and fun food finds. You may even come across your new favorite treat.

5. Participate in a service trip.

This is not only a fun way to spend your summer days, but is also an incredible chance to give back to others. Activities like these bring people together, making long-lasting friends and unforgettable memories.

6. Watch the sunrise.

Grab a smoothie and find a charming sunrise spot. It may require getting up early, but is 100% worth it. You can take some good Instagrams, but make sure to keep your eyes on the rise.

7. Go kayaking, boating, or rafting.

The weather is perfect, so get out on the water and make a splash. Start an extreme water-gun fight and battle till the end. It will be a guaranteed boatload of fun.

8. Have a Disney original movie marathon.

Pull out Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, The Parent Trap, and Cadet Kelly for the ultimate throwback. You might as well watch some Lizzie McGuire while you’re at it.

9. Hold a karoke competition.

Pump up the speakers and belt out some T-Swizzle tunes. If you are feeling bold, take the gathering outside for an ampitheatre effect.

10. Create a vision board.

Think about more adventures you would like to accomplish in the future and arrange them on a board! This craft will give you the inspiration and motivation to continue making the most of every moment this summer.
