I don’t know about you, but If you’re anything like me, the thought of turning 22 is utterly terrifying and just sounds so…old. With a little guidance from everyone’s favorite country-turned-pop sensation’s anthem “22,” this year has the potential to be the most happy, free and confusing one yet! Follow T-Swift’s advice, and being 22 will truly be both miserable and magical.
1. Dress up like a hipster.
Throw on your best flannels and specs because being 22 is all about dressing for yourself and having fun with it. If you want to wear cat ears to a bar, you do you, girl. 2. Make fun of your exes.
That guy who thought taking you to Chipotle was an acceptable first date? Yeah, you can make fun of him. 3. Have breakfast at midnight.
Waffles and bacon as the clock strikes 12? You’ll make Cinderella wish she had chosen pancakes over princes.4. Forget about the deadlines.
Ten page paper about the increase in perpetual-procrastination among millennials due tomorrow at 3pm? Yeah, no. 5. End up dreaming.
This is the perfect time of your life to dream big and dream often. If marrying Prince Harry is on your agenda, follow that dream girl! He’s still single you know…6. Ditch the whole scene when there’s just too many cool kids.
It’s okay to not be into the latest boyband or have any idea who Meghan Trainor is. You’re an adult now and can make grown up decisions… like going to play laser tag instead. 7. You definitely won’t be sleeping.
You have the rest of your life to sleep! Stay up late, make memories, and take advantage of being young because one day you’ll wake up and realize you aren’t actually Taylor Swift and have to have a real job. 8. That guy that looks like bad news? You can have him.
Even if he walks in looking like trouble, you deserve a little fun! Go for that guy with the dimples and James Dean hair because you’re 22, and you’ve got plenty of blank spaces. 9. Just keep dancing.
Three years older and Taylor is still shaking it off and having the time of her life. Let’s face it, the girl knows how to have fun, and we should take her advice, make life our dance floor and keep on feeling 22.
