With Spring Break merely two weeks away, most people know where they are going but not what they will be doing when they get there, besides relaxing on their week off. Here are some restaurant and club hot spots for some of the highest rated Spring Break destinations this season so that you can make the most of your vacation.

Miami, FL:

Restaurant: For your typical surf and turf check out Garcia Seafood Grille & Fish located on the Miami River. Garcia’s has a great view combined with reasonably priced food. For authentic Cuban food, go to Puerto Sagua Restaurant; it is affordable and has great reviews.  Since Miami is known for fresh seafood and its rich Cuban culture both of these offer great finds you won’t stumble upon in Chapel Hill.

Best Place to Go Out: Club Space in downtown Miami is popular and trendy and has a few performers booked for the weekend of March 5. Don’t plan on seeing Snooki or any other Jersey Shore cast members; they’ve been banned from several clubs in the popular tourist city since their season there.

Charleston, SC:
Restaurant: Magnolia’s offers upscale Southern cuisine but is not as cheap as other local restaurants. It would be great if you’re looking for a romantic night out, though. However, if this is dinner with friends, Jestine’s Kitchen is a cheap restaurant that was profiled on Rachael Ray; it’s a go-to spot for Southern comfort food.

Best Place to Go Out: Purple Tree Lounge is the hip place to be in Charleston, offering a light show, popular music and a variety of drinks.

New Orleans, LA:
Best Restaurant: Dick and Jenny’s has delicious, traditional Louisiana grub at an affordable price. Whether you want to try gumbo for the first time or just go for seafood, this is the place to eat.

Best Place to Go Out: The French Quarter is full of clubs, and with Mardi Gras coinciding with our Spring Break, parades will fill the area with floats and tourists.

Carpooling is great when going on vacation with friends; so whether you’re splitting gas or taking multiple cars, make sure to figure out your plan ahead of time. Otherwise there’s always that one friend that says she’ll chip in for gas, just like she always claims she’ll buy the next round of drinks, and never will.

Figuring out who’s driving based on whose car gets the best mileage can also save you a few bucks. If you’re still trying to book arrangements, look for group rates or condos that can be rented with multiple bedrooms. This option is usually cheaper than everyone renting her own individually or dividing into smaller groups.

Taking a few minutes to research your Spring Break destination will allow you to make the most of your time, which leaves more for you to tan on the beach.

Have fun!
