#MovieWeek: A Hallmark Movie Christmas Is The Best Christmas — Change My Mind

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

I’ve spent each Christmas watching Hallmark Christmas movies to my heart’s content, for as long as I can remember. The small holiday town, the falling snow and the kiss at the end to top it all off? Nothing says Christmas quite like Hallmark.

For a college student, Christmas can really sneak up on you. By the time Thanksgiving is over, you’re in the midst of finals and studying, and before you know it, the semester is over and Christmas is right around the corner. That said, getting into the spirit of the holidays can be a bit difficult, sometimes, and that’s when I always rely on the cheer that a good Hallmark Christmas movie provides.

Like I mentioned before, these movies have a pretty standard plot. It’s the holiday season, there’s romance in the air and there’s usually snow on the ground in a small Christmas town, but they’re all different in their own way. Maybe someone found his or her way into a small town for the holidays, is an extremely good baker or made his or her way back home for the holiday season – the possibilities are truly endless (and all equally adorable). This basic premise provides the perfect backdrop for all sorts of fun adventures and exciting stories of love and holiday cheer, and the movies never fail to get you in the spirit.

I always get a warm, fuzzy feeling, every time I watch Hallmark movies. I always want to break out the hot chocolate, grab a comfy blanket and curl up on the couch, as I watch happiness on a TV screen. It’s something I’ve been doing for years and something I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. It’s also something I do with family. Going home to watch these movies with my mom or grandparents brings back sweet memories of holiday love and joy over the years — there’s really nothing quite like it. It’s also something that I’ve found a place for at school. Some of my fondest holiday memories with friends in college involve us watching movies that have made us laugh, cry and feel a sense of happiness that you just can’t top.

This Christmas, if you’ve never seen a Hallmark Christmas movie before, then I think it’s time you give these little lights of holiday cheer a chance. If you have, then keep watching these wholesome movies that are sure to bring you happiness. Grab some friends, curl up on the couch with some hot chocolate and start getting into that holiday spirit that we all know and love.

A Hallmark movie Christmas is the best Christmas, and you can’t change my mind.
