Joseph Rayfield Level III

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

Name: Joseph Rayfield Level III

Hometown: Greensboro, N.C.

Year: Sophomore

Major: Business Administration

Favorite Coldstone/Yopo Flavor: Anything involving cake batter, cookie dough, or cheesecake

Where do you study? Davis, UL, other? I really don’t have a favorite place to study. As long as I have classical music to accompany me, then I’ll study anywhere.

Fun Fact: I used to collect football, baseball, and basketball cards growing up. I still have a few 3-ring binders full of them.

Motto: “ASPIRE TO INSPIRE”

Campus Involvement:

  • Membership and Education Coordinator for Carolina Men Advocating for Learning Empowerment and Success ( M.A.L.E.S.)
  • Minority Student Recruitment Committee (MSRC) Select Member
  • Executive Board Member for Carolina Sport Business Club (CSBC)

What’s your favorite thing about Carolina? The strength of our student body is definitely my favorite aspect of UNC. We understand the power of our voice. We change the world around us. We work hard everyday to ensure a brighter future; not only for ourselves, but for those in need. That is the Carolina Way.

What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time I enjoy kicking back with friends, hitting the gym and reading about current events taking place in the sport, education, business, and political arenas. I also like to write poetry and play the piano.

What qualities do you find attractive in a girl? I love a woman who is strong and confident in herself. Intelligence is equally important, and a sense of humor is a must (I love to crack jokes). Character and personality play a vital role; however, I’m a big sucker for nice legs, lips and a beautiful smile.

What are your biggest turn-offs? Selfishness, a nasty attitude and bad body odor are all deal breakers!

Who is your celebrity crush? First Lady Michelle Obama … beauty, elegance, and grace

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of my nine-year-old sister, Jordan. Although she was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth, that doesn’t stop her from exceeding expectations and achieving the greatest results. She is intrigued by the simple things in life, and is ultimately my motivation to succeed. Because of her accomplishments, I have no excuse for not excelling.

So what do you plan to do after college? I plan on attending graduate school in New York and working within the athletic department of the respective university. Ideally, I would like to enroll in a joint-degree program earning both the degree of Juris Doctor (J.D.) and the degree of Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself finished with school, married, and doing what I love.
