Campus Cutie: Chris Felix ‘14

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

This Campus Cutie has beautiful, baby blue eyes that you could get lost in for days, and eyelashes that would put a Maybelline model to shame. He is witty, with a snarky sense of humor that will keep you laughing for days. Ladies and Gentlemen, here is Chris Felix:

Hometown:  Uniontown, Pennsylvania

Major: Biology with Chemistry and Music minors

Year: Senior

Favorite Place to Study: The Stacks of Davis

Motto: “When life gives you hell, keep going.”

Fun fact: He is Egyptian

Celebrity Crushes: Beyonce

Man Crush: Justin Timberlake

Favorite Yopo flavor: It’s a tie between Angel Food Cake and Pumpkin Pie

Relationship status: Single

HC: What do you like to do in your free time?

CF: I like to run, and I look at music blogs a lot. I also like to pretend that I know how to cook.

HC:What do you cook?

CF: The only thing I can really make at this point is chicken, and I’m getting really good at frozen vegetables and pasta!

HC: So what are you doing with your life?

CF: Right now I am looking into jobs in financial services and consulting. I am trying to combine science and business. But my dream job would be to host a weird talk show or a game show, like Whose Line Is It Anyway. I could also see myself being like Anderson Cooper and reporting breaking news from the field, like dodging bullets in the Middle East.

HC: What are your future family plans?

CF: I would like to get married, but I don’t think I want kids.

HC: Have you had any interesting traveling experiences?

CF: This summer I was in the Azores, Portugal working in a hospital, and I did research on comparing the American healthcare system to the European healthcare system, and I also taught English classes. Last Spring break I went to Honduras and did medical volunteer work and tried to pretend that I know Spanish.

HC: What is your fave part of Carolina?

CF: I like sitting on the sides of the Pit when its really sunny, while eating Subway. I like to just sit and watch everything unfold around me.

HC: What kind of music do you listen to?

CF: A lot of everything. Right now it’s  Justin Timberlake’s new album, a little bit of John McLaughlin, and Beyonce, of course, because she is perfect. I am really into R&B and soul,  like Elle Varner.

HC: What would be your perfect date?

CF: We would start by hammocking in the Arboretum before dinner, so it would be cool outside, and the Arboretum is just so nature-y. Then we would go to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, and get the Kahlua Cheesecake. And I’ve always wanted to go to a dueling piano bar, so we would do that after dinner.

HC: What is a dueling piano bar?

CF: It’s really cool! Basically there are two pianists, and you give them a song request. Whoever plays it better wins the tip. And sometimes they will just start playing a song, and go back and forth between each other.

HC: That sounds awesome! Do you play any instruments?

CF: I play the trumpet, a little bit of piano, and some drums. I know how to play almost every Beyonce song on the Piano.

HC: What are 6 things you could never live without?

CF: My phone, fried Okra, Lime (The Mexican restaurant), my Beatz headphones, Coke Zero, and my running shoes.

HC: What are your biggest turn-offs?

CF: I hate smoking– that is a huge one. And sloppy drunks are disgusting, bad breath, and people who can’t hold intelligent conversations.
