Who said you can’t wear summer clothes during the fall?
Keep reading, a smooth transition into fall weather is what it’s all about.
It wasn’t too long ago when you saw the trend of bright colors and high heels all around.
Well, guess what? You can still wear them as long as you try to make the right combination.
On the right is UNC student and sophomore, Delia D’Ambra, showing off her bright blue print she got at Belk’s. The different colors make the fall season more exciting with dynamic colors, florals and shapes. A way that you can wear them down a little is by using dark colors like dark blue, black, or brown. These tones will help the blend look fashionable.
Also, Laurel Nakkas, a junior at UNC stays bold by also playing with different colors and exposing her cotton-knit dress suitable for the season that she got online. Her dress is the perfect combination of summer and fall with the bright red and mustard shade. Whoever said mustard color was “so last year” was wrong! You can wear it now by combining it with a dark brown and black and making it pop with red.
The best part of it all is that you can rock these tones anytime and anywhere. On the way to class, work, classic events, etc. As long as you calm them down with neutrals and add garments. So if you decide to wear a really bright red dress, add a cardigan with patterns that will make the intense colors less intense. If you’re scared to wear brights during the fall, then start with bright jewelry. You can get them from Forever21 and Bebe. Shoes also play a major role in your outfit, so you can try to add shoes like these for a classic night out with your girlfriends. Also, you can wear scarves that will go with your outfit by buying ones that have patterns in them and with yellow and green tones.
And based on this website, patterns and stripes are the new trend for fall and also winter weather so now you have another reason to wear ‘em bright tones. Based on this, Blue, beige, orange, and grey are the new trends for the winter. You can try wearing a blue under a brown leather jacket or even and orange dress by taming it down with patterns or different colors.
Even Glamour magazine shows us (on the left) that it’s okay to wear brights with colors that are tame and smooth. So keep ‘em bright colors out of the garage and stick to them for as long as you need.
Extra: You can also sprinkle your outfit with a black belt like the one from Francesca’s shown on the right. A belt like this helps accentuate the body.
So remember, next time you’re about to rid your closet of all the summer clothes, think again!
