Alpine Bagel is one of UNC’s greatest establishments. Located in the heart of campus—the Student Union—it’s a mealtime hotspot, especially around lunchtime. This photo entry covers the trip from the back of the line to the greatly anticipated counter where bagel artists wait to ask you, “For here or to go?”

12:00 p.m. The end of the line, literally backed up to the bathrooms at the opposite side of the Union.

12:17 p.m. Finally at the bend in the line where you can smell the bagels and read the menu options.

12:25 p.m. Bagel to-go and bag of chips, ready to be eaten!

12:26 p.m. Salt and vinegar chips + spinach/parmesan bagel with hummus and avocado = so worth the wait.
