Affordable and Fabulous Finds on Franklin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

If you have never been able to reply to a compliment with, “Oh, thanks! I got it on Franklin,” then it is time to hit Franklin Street for some Chapel Hill-pride shopping! Lucky for you, I already spent an afternoon scoping out UNC’s favorite street for some cute spring accessories. Best part: they’re all under $30 and completely unique!

First I popped into Light Years, a shop full of eye-catching accessories. It was hard to narrow down my options, but here are a few pieces I really loved:

Pink necklace: $10.50

Pink, yellow and green necklace: $16

Peacock earrings: $14

And then I saw what it probably the cutest jewelry ever: rings and earrings by Shari Dixon that are all $26. All of these pieces have REAL flowers inside them, and they are so adorable!

Then I headed into The Clothing Warehouse. Since this store is all vintage, anything you find is going to be original. I decided to dig through the container of belts, and ended up finding some really cute ones!

Polka dot belt: $4.95
Black belt: $12.95
Tan stretch belt: $6.95

And in case you’re looking for a new pair of shades for the summer, this place is stocked with them, all for $14.95.

And then, I ended up in quite possibly the most eclectic shop on Franklin, Time After Time. Aside from the cute accessories you can find in here, this is a great spot if you need a costume for anything. Really, you can find anything here. You might have to dig around, but you’re sure to find some great pieces.
