I have different feelings before I start university next week, on the usual things too!
I’m sure that all freshers minds are exploding with emotion at this moment. This week and the next thousands of us are going to be doing something completely out of our comfort zone; living away from home being grown up and doing things for ourselves; not forget that we are all in the same boat! It’s best not to worry about making friends because everyone is just as nervous as each other – we are probably going to meet our life long friends in the next week! To help you, here are a few of my own before uni feelings..
Before uni feelings.. on moving.
It’s crazy to think that I won’t be living in York for much longer, I am more than ready to be independant but I am definitely going to miss my mums cooking! I can’t wait to get into my new room and decorate it with all my accesssories and things, I got a map of America for my birthday which will be stuck on my notice board for sure! It’s going to help for for definite with my studies! I like the idea of making a new home for myself and to learn new skills.
Before uni feelings.. on meeting new people.
Luckily for me I have already spoken to a few people living in my halls – this is something I am very excited for, I can’t wait to meet fresh faces and hear their stories. If you are nervous at all just stick your neck out during freshers week! Even if you’re not a person who likes to go out a lot (like myself) go to day events and also fresher fayre to join a society which is perfect for you! You will definitely meet lots of people like yourself who will be there for the rest of your lives! Don’t be too scared I’m sure only the best people go to Canterbury..(hehe)
Before uni feelings.. on starting my course.
I am soo more than ready and excited to begin my American Studies course!! It is something I’ve been interested in for so long and I’m finally there! I’m finally going to be studying something I actually enjoy and have interest in! Christ Church has lots to offer with amazing Professors who I am going to have an absolute pleasure learning from, the uni also has the beautiful Augustine House which has lots of resources to help us with our studies! We are lucky students to have all these things on our doorstep, I’m so excited to start learning and being part of the uni!
As well as my own before uni feelings, I asked a couple of new friends their opinions about starting uni and this was their response:
Jaimie Archer “I’m really excited for uni and meeting new people and the course I have chosen to do. However, I am also really nervous to be living on my own without my parents!”
Alice Lucas “I’m excited to start uni and be living independently with new friends but I am also a tad bit worried about my course and getting used to new things!”
