With the colder months of the year approaching, it’s important that we stay warm and cozy. Those cold walks to class are no joke, and we can’t forget to be warm and stylish too. Here’s a guide to must-have pieces that will make this winter easy, cute, and affordable.

A Statement Winter Coat

A statement winter coat is the first thing I would add to this list. You need a coat that will keep you warm, stay durable, and have versatility. I love a good puffer coat; they always last me a long time, and I can wear them with anything in my closet. You can also do a wool coat or a trench-style coat to change things up.

Chunky Knit Sweaters

Chunky knit sweaters are great to have for an easy, put-together look without trying too hard. There are many different types of sweaters that you can choose from to easily style for the winter. My pro tip: take any sweater and style it with jeans, leggings, or a cute skirt. Add your favorite accessories and your favorite boots for a cute winter outfit.

A Good Pair of Boots

Boots will be your best friend during the wintertime, trust me. You are going to want to find some durable boots that can withstand heavy weather conditions and be comfortable to walk around campus in. I would recommend finding waterproof boots so you don’t have to worry about them getting damaged. Brown or black boots are great colors to get so they can match all the outfits you put together.

Thermal Layers

Invest in good thermal layers for this winter. These layers are essential for keeping you warm and holding up against the winter weather without looking too bulky. These thermal layers can usually be found at Target or Old Navy.

Everyday Jeans and Comfy Leggings

Jeans and leggings are usually my go-to when I’m getting ready for class. They are easy to style with a sweater or hoodie layered with a puffer jacket on top. I would recommend getting fleece-lined leggings to keep you extra warm since leggings material can be too thin to wear by itself. For jeans, try going for a dark wash to match the winter vibes.

Two-Piece Set

I love a good two-piece set for class. They are quick and easy to style and can be worn multiple ways. Two-piece sets always make me feel more put-together. Sweatpants and hoodie sets are usually my go-to, but there are also legging sets that are perfect for the wintertime.

Accessories

Stylish hats, gloves, and scarves will tie your outfit together. These accessories can elevate any of your outfits while keeping you warm at the same time. Try matching your accessories to your coat for a more put-together look.

These are my fashion tips for this winter. Remember, winter fashion does not need to be expensive. Just invest in your basics to stay warm and stylish all season. Start building that wardrobe now so you can be campus-ready.
