Earth Day is the perfect time to rethink your beauty routine and make more thoughtful choices. One of the easiest ways to do that is by switching to vegan skincare and makeup brands that are better for the planet, animals, and your skin. These brands prove you don’t have to sacrifice quality to do right by our planet.

1. e.l.f. Cosmetics

E.l.f. is one of the most affordable and accessible 100% vegan and cruelty-free brands on the market. Known for products like my personal favorite the Power Grip Primer and Hydrating Camo Concealer, e.l.f. makes it easy for anyone to start a vegan beauty routine without breaking the bank and you can actively look at the ingredient and see for yourself.

2. Milk Makeup

3. The Ordinary

The Ordinary is a go to for affordable, science-backed skincare. Most of their products are vegan, including popular items like Niacinamide, Zinc and Hyaluronic Acid 2%. They also keep packaging simple and recyclable.

4. Youth to the People

This skincare brand is fully vegan and focuses on superfood-based ingredients like kale, spinach, and green tea. Their Superfood Cleanser is a standout product, and their glass packaging is recyclable and eco-friendly.

Tarte has expanded its vegan offerings significantly in recent years. Their Shape Tape Concealer (vegan version) and other products combine high performance with more conscious ingredient choices.

6. Live Tinted

Live Tinted is a beauty brand centered on inclusivity and celebrating diverse skin tones, especially for communities often overlooked in the industry. The brand is vegan and cruelty-free, offering multitasking products designed to simplify routines. One of its most popular items, the Huestick, works as a color corrector, blush, and lip product, making it both practical and versatile. Live Tinted also focuses on thoughtful production and intentional ingredients, showing that beauty can be expressive, functional, and aligned with more conscious values.

7. Tower 28 Beauty

Tower 28 offers vegan and cruelty-free products designed for sensitive skin. Their SOS Spray and Shine On Lip Jelly are most popular, and the brand avoids harmful or irritating ingredients.

8. WELL PEOPLE

WELL PEOPLE is a clean beauty brand that offers vegan and cruelty-free skincare and makeup products. The brand is known for using plant-based ingredients that are gentle on the skin. Popular products include their Bio Tint Foundation and Expressionist Mascara. WELL PEOPLE focus on eco-conscious beauty showing how makeup and skincare can support both personal wellness and the health of the planet.

Switching to vegan beauty doesn’t have to happen all at once. Start by replacing products as you run out and look for brands that align with your values. Earth Day is about progress, not perfection. Also fully look into what you’re buying to apply on your skin, not just what’s trending.

Choosing vegan skincare and makeup is more than a trend, it’s a step toward a more sustainable and ethical future. With so many brands available, it’s easier than ever to glow while helping our planet grow.
