The period. The time of the month when our bodies release a lining of our uterus. Women’s bodies menstruate as a part of the reproductive cycle. This can be a painful process. Women everywhere deal with painful periods, and some might consider them unbearable. Sometimes periods even make women feel like they have to stop everything to make time for that time of the month. So here is a list of remedies, and tools that may help ease period pain.

Drinking more water can always be a way to help ease period pain. Our bodies are made up of fluids, and without them, the body may have a difficult time functioning. If water doesn’t have enough flavor, try teas or flavored waters. Chamomile tea, lemon-infused water, and juice packets for water can even help. Try to drink plenty of fluids before, during, and after your period in order to help with painful periods.

Moving your body during your period can also help. Now, this may seem like a terribly difficult task during this time, but it can help. According to Medical News Today Exercising during periods releases endorphins, elevates metabolism, reduces fatigue during periods. Exercising may even take your mind off of the pain you’re feeling while on your period. Some exercises that can help would be light jogging, yoga, stretching, and sometimes swimming. Also, remember not to overwork your body during this time. Overexercising, and doing extremely strenuous exercising can cause women to miss their periods. Always take into account what your body can handle and go from there.

Heat therapy is also a huge factor in easing period pain. Hot showers, hot baths, and heating pads are all types of heat therapy. Heat therapy allows the uterus to relax during periods and ease up the buildup of blood in the pelvis. Heat therapy is common among many women with unbearable periods, and it may help.

Resting is very vital in fighting period pain. Our bodies need time to rest and recuperate during this time. Lie down, take a nap, or do anything relaxing. Give you and your body a break during this time of the month.
