Hey Her Campus Hawties! It’s your girl Aa’Sokiyah back again, and you know I’m here to spill the tea and keep it real with y’all. Let me tell you about the absolute time of my life when my man took me to a basketball game for date night. Yes, sis, an NBA game. If you haven’t thought about it yet, listen up because I’m about to let you in on why this needs to be the next spot for you and your boo.

First things first, we went to see the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Washington Wizards, and baby, when I tell you it was a vibe, I mean it was a WHOLE vibe. The energy in that arena? Crazy! Everybody was turnt up, rooting for our Grizzlies, and you could just feel the love for the city all around. Now, let me just say, it’s one thing to watch the game on TV, but it’s another to be there in person, feeling that electric energy, with your man right next to you.

Now, you know I had to be in my zone, cheering for my faves. I’m talking about Desmond Bane, Ja Morant, and Jaren Jackson Jr. The whole squad really. Sadly, Bane and Morant weren’t on the court that night, but Jackson Jr. made sure he held it down. Man was unstoppable, putting up 39 points! You could tell he was on fire, and I was hyped up for every point. That’s what makes it even better for date night; when y’all both getting excited, screaming, and feeling the energy. Trust me, it brings you closer.

But let me tell y’all, the real surprise was the new rookie Jaylen Wells. Whew, when I say this man can shoot, I mean he was knocking down 3’s like it was nothing! I was out there like, “Okay, Jaylen, I see you!” Having a moment like that when you notice new talent and see a star being born just makes the whole experience even better. Your man is going to look over and see you shining with excitement, and he’ll know you’re having just as much fun as he is.

Now, ladies, let’s talk about the whole experience of going to an NBA game. It’s not just about watching the players do their thing on the court. Oh no, it’s the atmosphere, the crowd, the music pumping in between plays, the dance cam moments, and even the food. You know I had to grab some nachos and a drink. Ain’t nothing better than sharing snacks and laughs with your partner while cheering your heart out. It gives you both memories to look back on and talk about.

To all my Memphians out there, y’all really showed up and showed out for the team. The love for the Grizzlies was strong, and that’s what makes moments like this special. It feels like you’re a part of something bigger, together with your bae and the whole city. So when the Grizzlies secured that win, you know we all were celebrating like family. A win streak just makes it that much sweeter.

Now fellas, if you are reading this and thinking about where to take your girl next, let me just say this…this is your sign. If you want to show her a good time, have her smiling ear to ear, and get her in the spirit, take her to a game. Trust me, she’ll be telling all her friends about how good you did, and it’ll be a date night she won’t forget.

So next time you think about what to do, remember what your girl Aa’Sokiyah said NBA games hit differently. It’s excitement, romance, and all the fun wrapped into one. Until next time, y’all. Stay blessed, stay loud, and stay rooting for your faves!
