What inspires you? Black Excellence

Short Term Goal: To graduate CAU May of 2019

Long Term Goal: To be happy with all and any decisions I make, and to be mentally, emotionally, and finically stable.

What do you do on your free time? I find alone time to be very vital, I’d write poetry, sing, shop, and sleep as much as possible. I also make time for friends.

Why CAU? Choosing Clark Atlanta University started off as a school based on location. It wasn’t until I stepped on campus that made me realized the family oriented atmosphere and seeing people so excited to make a difference.

One piece of advice: Be selective with who and what you give your time and energy to because those are two things one will never get back.

Nomination Speech: I’d like to thank God first and foremost because he put me in front of you all to share my purpose. I’d like to thank you all, my family, friends, and teachers for the support. Without you all’s recognition of my potential, I would never have thought to do half of the amazing things I’ve been called to do. Always remember what is for you will never miss you. Thank you!

Favorite Person on Campus: Every African American because we’re all destined to break the stereotypes.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Grad school at Howard University

How hard is managing time? Managing time isn’t hard if you’re self-disciplined.

Kayla Antoinette Walker has always been an ambitious and motivated young woman and has always set high standards for herself. She is an aspiring event/wedding coordinator majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing at the illustrious Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. She chose to attend Clark Atlanta after graduating Valedictorian of her high school class at Carver High School in Columbus, GA. As a senior, Kayla has a passion for mentoring and wants to bring a sense of pride and empowerment to the women of Clark Atlanta to encourage them to "be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire".
