Epiphany Storey, Class of 2017!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CAU chapter.

She’s a graduating senior with a plan that’ll change the world….forever! It gives us great pleasure to interview the one and only, Epiphany Storey. I Got To Sit Down and Interview Miss Epiphany and here is what she said

Therecia Lang: Do you have any plans after graduation?

Epiphany Storey: I’m going to graduate school and getting a Ph.D. in Psychology.

T.L: What do you plan to do?

E.S: I want to open my own practice, but I really want to work with kids who are in juvenile and help counsel them so that when they get out they won’t get back in jail. I’m just trying to help them with whatever issues they have.

T.L: What’s the funniest thing you have experienced while being at CAU?

E.S: The funniest? Me and my roommate are very close, I call them my roommates because they were my roommates at a point of time but now we’re all spread out. Our freshman year we had a water balloon fight, well we tried to have one but we got in trouble. And my roommate got arrested, but everything was fine she wasn’t taken to jail just to the CAU police station. So that was the funniest experience! We can laugh about it now but back then at the time we like screaming and being dramatic “Oh my God, she got arrested!”

T.L: I see that you are natural, I’m transitioning now, are there any tips that you can give to someone transitioning?

E.S: Patience! That is my number one! I transitioned my Sophomore year, then I cut my hair the summer before junior year and been natural ever since. My hair grows fast but I say you have to be patient cause the transition part is the hard part. I recommend big chop but its not for everybody. I use Shea Moisture’s shampoo and conditioner but I also use African Pride leave in for my twist outs because it works for me.

T.L: What organizations/clubs are you involved in?

E.S: I am involved in the Honors Program, Toastmasters, and Phi Chi honor society for Psychology majors. But right now I’m focused on applying to graduate schools.

T.L: Do you have any schools in mind for graduate school?

E.S: My top two choices are Auburn and University of Alabama. They both have good Psych programs so either one I would be happy to get into.

T.L: What is your favorite show on Netflix?

E.S: Okay everybody says I’m crazy but Criminal Minds and Law and Order! All the time! My boyfriend thinks I’m crazy “You gotta stop watching these killer shows,” but I can’t stop. I can watch them all day.

T.L: Any advice to the Freshman class?

E.S: I used to be a teachers assistant for First Year Seminar. So I used to tell my students “Have fun” but always remember that this is a professional environment. Just remember that you’re here for your business and to graduate preferably on time.

T.L: What are some fun things you like to do on and off campus?

E.S: I mostly hang out with my roommates, we love to go to Atlantic station, shop and eat. But my friends will tell you that the majority of the time I’m with my boyfriend. Like I spend way too much time with him.

T.L: What is Atlantic Station, I’m always hearing about it?

E.S: It’s an outdoor mall, a bunch of stores and restaurants and in the winter they have an ice skating rink.

T.L: What are your favorite stores and restaurants in Atlantic Station?

E.S: DSW, because I am a shoe hoarder. Then I usually stop at H&M. But as far as food, Cheesecake Bistro they have really good seafood. But I love cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory too.
