Dantorie Reeves, 1st Attendant to Man of the Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CAU chapter.

Name: Dantorie Reeves

Hometown: San Jose, California

Major: Mass Media Arts

IG/Twitter: @mr_reeves23

Relationship Status: Talking to someone

Turn ons & Turn offs: A woman who conducts herself well and takes care of business when it’s time, but always knows how to get out sometimes to truly enjoy life. It turns me off when I go somewhere with people and they are constantly on their phones instead of engaging in conversation or just enjoying whatever it is that we are doing at that time.

Dream Job: To be a Film Producer

Dream date: Skydiving in the Bahamas and then spending the day doing various water activities such as: jet skis, parasailing, snorkeling etc…

What’s at the top of your bucket list? To compete on the Amazing Race with my mom.

Who/What inspires you? Looking back at some of the men in my family and seeing exactly how I DON’T want to live is what inspires me. Constantly being reminded of what failure looks like is what motivates me.

One thing you can’t leave the house without? My wallet

Short term goals: Graduate undergrad and get accepted into graduate school

Long term goals: To have a successful production company. More importantly be a devoted husband in a healthy marriage and great role model to my children.

Celebrity crush: Nia Long

Favorite quote: “When your mouth can no longer speak what will your name say about you?”

Favorite color: Green

Favorite food: Shrimp & Chicken fettuccine alfredo W/ cheese bread

Hobbies: Working out and playing basketball

Favorite hangout spot: Dave n Busters

Why CAU? I always knew that I wanted to come back to the south and Atlanta is becoming the Black Hollywood. So what better place to be then somewhere that has a great Mass Media Arts program and is a historically black university?

Organizations on campus? 1st Attendant, Man of the Year, Chief of Staff for Campus Activities Board, Community Service Chairman for Collegiate 100, M.I.R.R.O.R mentor

Something no one knows? I spent a lot of my time as a child in a beauty salon because my auntie owns one and my mother would always be there. I enjoyed it sometimes because I would hear so many different women perspectives about everything.

One piece of advice you would give? I would say stop just being alive and actually start living because there is a difference.

What do you think makes you stand out as a person? I am never afraid to be myself regardless of where I am.

How would you describe your personality? Charismatic, hard-working, outgoing

If someone provided a free trip out of the country, where would you go and why? I would go to Brazil because I have always wanted to visit and I hear great things about it.

When do you feel most creative? I feel most creative when I am in the shower or extremely late at night around 3am.

What do you worry most about when it comes to your future? Just how successful am I truly going to be and how long is it going to take me to get there

Has attending CAU changed you slightly for the better? In what way? Yes it has because being surrounded by others that look like me and are working just as hard to get to where they are trying to go helps keep me motivated to keep pushing.
