Danielle Collins, The Ambassador on the Go

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CAU chapter.

Danielle Collins is known as our future Sports Reporter. She shares with us her goals, aspirations, and a bit of her personality.

Enjoy reading about what she can bring to the table.

Name: Danielle Collins

Hometown: Chicago Illinois

Major: Mass Media Arts

Classification: Freshman

Relationship Status: My relationship status is complicated for right now.

Turn ons & Turn offs: Some Turn Ons would be goals to achieve, goofy, smart, athletic; just great personality mostly. Turn Offs, I would say, someone who’s just not motivated period.

Dream Job: My dream job would be being an Anchor for ESPN sitting at the table covering the NBA Finals.

Dream Date: I like to chill mostly but my dream date would be having a picnic/bon fire on the beach as we watch the sunset.

What’s at the top of your bucket list? Travel different countries in Europe with my mom and best friends; learning about a culture and eating foreign foods lol.

Who/What inspires you? My mom inspires me because she has gone through EVERYTHING, but she keeps her head high. Her faith is locked in and on point. She inspires me, because no matter the circumstance there is nothing she can’t get out of: Her situation will not be her final destination. I love her for always showing me that and it made me who I am today. I won’t let anything hold me back.

One thing you can’t leave the house without? One thing I can’t leave the house without is my lip gloss. My lips have to be popping at all times.

Short term goals: My short term goals would be to always stay true to myself, but as I matriculate through the years on this campus I hope to make my mark on CAU; make a difference on and off campus. I just want to make the best of my experience and have an impact on someone’s life.

Long term goals: My long term goals would be to graduate from college. Being the only person in my family to go to college is important for me, because I’m not just doing this for me I’m doing this for my family. No matter what I do I know for sure that I want to be able to love my profession, be financially stable and able to have my families back like they have mine.

Celebrity crush: My celebrity crush will always and forever be Michael B Jordon. That is one beautiful chocolate man.

Favorite quote: Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get.

Favorite color: My favorite color is green no matter the shade; it’s all beautiful.

Favorite food: I think this is the hardest question for me. I LOVE food so to narrow it down to one is hard but I think my favorite food is Shrimp fried rice I can eat that all day every day.

Hobbies: Singing, running, chilling with the homies!

Favorite hangout spot: My favorite hang out spot would have to be Centennial Olympic Park I love just walking around looking at all the families, the kids playing, dogs running around just the environment  there makes me happy.

Why CAU? Hmmm well it was rough for me trying to find the right college but I think it was more of CAU choosing me. I put out so many applications, I never went on a college tour of any of the places I applied to. My journalism teacher Tameca Johnson is an Alumni of CAU and she used to go on and on about it she knew it would be the right place for me so I applied and everything just felt right. I knew I made the right decision because when I stepped on this campus I saw myself being successful and I felt like I was right at home.

Organizations on campus: I am a Student Ambassador, Athletic Trainer, Orientation Guide

Something no one knows? Umm a lot of people don’t know I’m a Pastor’s Daughter.

One piece of advice you would give? The advice that I would give is that no matter where you go there are pros and cons things wont be perfect but its what you make it you have the power to make it the best experience of your life or not. Basically life is what you make it, it may trip you up sometimes but its how you get through it.

What are you most likely doing on your free time? In my free time I love to listen to music and sing in the mirror lol that’s like my stress reliever.

Name one song that describes you best: I love this song with all my heart but its Beautiful by India Arie this song just speaks to me on so many levels.

What are your plans for the summer? My plans this summer is to one have fun but work work work make this money so I can pay this tuition lol .

What do you like most about being an OG? What I love most about being an Orientation Guide is that you can inspire so many people by just showing how much you love CAU you can get them excited about college and making this new transition in their life and the best part about it you can serve as a role model and help so many people.

How had going to school out of state benefited you? Being out of state is great because you are exposed to so many new things instead of doing the same things you do at home. Its refreshing to be away and interact with different people and learn new things.

Her Campus CAU would like to congradualte Danielle Collins and thank her for cooeprating with us!!’

We wish the best for you and you’re future endevors! XOXO
