Girl. Life goes on, I promise. I know you probably thought that your relationship was going to last until eternity, but things change, rearrange and you still have to maintain. Do not stay sad or mad forever. You are the epitome of beauty, and you are everything. You deserve somebody who appreciates you or someone who you ultimately want to be with forever, ever? Forever, ever, word to Andre 3000. I’ve curated a playlist of 8 songs for you to move on. Here is “After the Heartbreak”:

1. Not Gon’ Cry – Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige had to single-handedly lay her whole demeanor on this song. With every note and lyric, you could just feel her emotions and her promise to not cry over the man that she spent eleven years with. “Working every day of the week. Was at the job when no one else was there… Eleven years of sacrifice”. I understand that all relationships take sacrifice, however, it should be give-and-take. You shouldn’t constantly feel like you are giving more than you are receiving, not in any relationship.

2. Hell No (Leave Home) – Monica ft. Twista

When I listen to this song I transcend. I feel like I was planning the extravagant birthday party and at the last minute received a note saying “I’m leaving”. You’re bending over backward showing your appreciation for your significant other and *boom*, they don’t want to be with you anymore. Now, that’s pain. If your situation was anything similar to that, you did not deserve that… and they for sure didn’t deserve you.

3. Hope She Cheats On You (With A Basketball Player) – Marsha Ambrosius

We do not hold grudges over here, but, sometimes you just have to let it out. I hope she cheats on you with a basketball player, somebody with money longer than you, or somebody taller than you. But then again, just let karma handle it. I bet they’ll get what they deserve.

4. Shake It Off – Mariah Carey

“I just gotta shake you off, ‘cause the loving ain’t the same… like you know I’m to stay”. Let them know. I am not here forever, you will not play with me, play over me, and certainly play in my face. Life is short, get right or get left.

5. What You Did – Mahalia ft. Ella Mai

If it doesn’t feel right, let it go. If cheating isn’t okay with you, let it go. You shouldn’t have to stay with someone that doesn’t value you. Let. It. Go.

6. Burn – Usher

This goes for everyone and everything, if it doesn’t make you happy or serves your highest good, let it burn. Even if you are on the fence about it, take some time and if things aren’t changing… like Usher said, “think it’s best to go our separate ways”.

7. Brand New – Jazmine Sullivan

As I mentioned before, things change, rearrange but you still have to maintain. If he changed up on you, left you for someone else after you’ve been down since Day 1…

8. Trust – Brent Faiyaz

Trusting someone that you are in a relationship is very important and the minute they break that barrier, it becomes hard to build it back up. It ultimately depends on your relationship. Trust is the foundation of all successful relationships.

Love will come again… to be continued.
