Love is Blind” is one of Netflix’s new reality shows and the internet’s newest obsession. The premise is simple, thirty people are selected to go on blind dates with each other with the sole goal of finding true love and getting married. Not everyone manages to find their other half, but the ones that eventually do go to the experiment’s next stage, the “honeymoon”, where they spend a few days together in a romantic getaway in Mexico. After that, they need to go back to reality. They move to the city, start living their normal lives together, meet each other’s families and, of course, plan their wedding. The whole process lasts for about a month. These are a couple of reasons to why you should watch “Love Is Blind“:

They’re Not In It For The Money

Unlike many programs of this genre, there isn’t a prize involved. Well, that actually depends on your point of view. The couple that says yes on the altar doesn’t win money, they win… love (and a bit of fame, of course). This is what drives these characters. Cute, right?

Drama Everywhere

Okay, so the show is cute, but it’s also… dramatic. There’s SO MUCH drama right from the first episode, when they’re all getting to know each other. Barnett, for example, is right at the center of a major plot that starts when he becomes conflicted about who he wants to marry, Amber, LC or Jessica? The whole thing unfolds in such a way that it basically becomes Jessica’s villain origin story.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, we get runaway brides, people throwing drinks on other people and Giannina acting like she’s staring in a drama TV show. Now, remember, these are adults, actual grown up people, going through all the stages of dating in a matter of days. It’s hilarious.

The Joy Of Seeing Lauren And Cameron Falling In Love

But not everything in life is endless drama, some couples are just perfect. Cameron and Lauren, who got engaged while everyone else was still blind dating, are proof that love does, in fact, exist (and, if not blind, it’s at least a little bit short sighted). We were rooting for them, from the beautiful things they said to one another to the way they cried together and, in turn, made us cry as well. If there’s a word to describe them, it’s wholesome.

It’s VERY Entertaining

Everything keeps you on the edge of your seat. Because, no matter what you think, there isn’t really a way to know who’s going to end up with who. And that makes “Love is Blind” very entertaining and great to watch with friends, so that you can talk about the latest developments and the cringiest moments (you know, like when Jessica let her dog drink red wine from her own glass).

Love is Blind” is everything reality shows are supposed to be. Great entertainment that you don’t have to take seriously and that lets you have some fun while watching it. And don’t get me started on the memes. Seriously, look them up.
