Summer is coming and short hair season is on! Is it time for you to take the plunge? Remember that the essence of your hair is a reflection of your personality. What you have to keep in mind is that the important thing is you to understand what you love and what embraces who you truly are.

Now let’s get down to the short hair real business! Do you catch yourself looking at photos of sassy haircuts? Are you holding your hair up in front of the mirror to picture yourself with short hair? Maybe that is the time for a total new haircut!

Take a look at the Q&A bellow to know a little bit about the style of three short-hair casperians’ beauties (and get inspired by them!)!

Barbara Passaretti, 19

Did you always have short hair?

“No. I had short hair when I was 15, but it was not as it is today, it was a chanel haircut. I always wanted to have short hair, but I was insecure about it. I thought I was going to look too different from the other girls that had long hair, that I was going to have a low self-esteem. However, one day I thought: ‘You know what? I’ll cut my hair shorter!’. 1 month ago I had long hair, but not anymore.”

How do you take care of your hair?

“To tell you the truth, I’ve never had a lot of hair care. I just wash it with shampoo (sometimes I don’t even use conditioner). After that, I use a hairdryer. Moreover, I always dry it to the opposite side that I am used to use it.”

Is there a hair product that you can not live without?

“Hair oil! Short hair is unforeseeable, so it is always good to have it around.”

How to handle a bad hair day?

“Sometimes my hair gets weird after I wash it. When this happens, I usually find a way to tie a scarf on it to reduce the hair volume.”

Do you have any tips for girls that want to have short hair?

“Cut your hair short! It is the best thing that can ever happen to you. It gives you a sensation of freedom, social and esthetical! In addition, it is really nice, you’ll feel free even if it’s not a radical haircut.”

Fernanda Figueredo, 19

College Major: Publicity & Advertisement

Did you always have short hair?

“No, I cut it short at the beginning of last year. I have never had long hair, but a shoulder-length haircut. However, I have never liked this hairstyle on me. I always thought that short hair showed much more of my personality, it looked like me (and I found out that it is really practical!).”

How do you take care of your hair?

“Basically, today I have the same hair care I had when I had that shoulder-length haircut. I still use shampoo and conditioner every day and keep it hydrated.”

Is there a hair product that you can not live without?

“Hair ointment. I use it to provide a cool definition to my hairstyle and because of frizz.”

Do you have any tips for girls that want to have short hair?

“The first thing that you have to keep in your minds is that: your hair will grow again. So just try it! Short hair is an awesome way to value your features, and I am sure you will feel better about yourself.”

Beatriz Araújo, 20

College Course: Journalism

Did you always have short hair?

“My mom always cut my hair short, since I was a little kid. However, when I started primary schooling, all the girls had long hair, except for me. I was so sad about it that I asked my mom to let my hair grow. For a long time I had long hair, but it was difficult to take care of it (I have wavy hair). Nonetheless, when I started 8th grade I decided to change, so I cut it short.”

How do you take care of your hair?

“Now that my hair is shorter, it is easier to take care of it. I wash it less often and use hair ointment. Besides that, I use a special shampoo for my hair type, do not use conditioner every day and try to keep my hair hydrated.”

How to handle a bad hair day?

“Since I have short hair, it is kinda difficult to have a bad hair day (but they happen!). Sometimes it gets really messy and I end up using hair crème or hair ointment.”

Do you have any tips for girls that want to have short hair?

“Cut your hair short, it is liberating! You do not need to start with a radical haircut. Try cutting it bit-by-bit and testing which haircut do you like the most.”
