It’s official: Christmas is right on the corner! YAY! The most wonderful time of the year has arrived, and I couldn’t be happier. I guess we could all use a little “Christmas magic” after 2021, right?

In this article, I’ll give six ideas for you to enjoy the most out of the Holidays. As Taylor Swift would say: ’tis the damn season!

1. Decorate your place!

It doesn’t matter how, it doesn’t matter when, but you need to put up some Holiday decorations! They’re the soul of this time of the year, you know? Decorating a tree or simply putting up some ornaments around your house is really going to set the mood for you.

It doesn’t have to be classy, and it definitely doesn’t have to be expensive! If you’re not really into shopping for Christmas decorations, you can always do your own ornaments! There are a lot of YouTube videos out there teaching people how to do their own Holiday decorations, spending a very small amount of money, so don’t worry about it.

2. Get the dust out off your books and start reading, girl

I know you’ve been buying books all year long and haven’t read most of them yet because you were way too busy to do so… Am I wrong?

Well, vacation is coming, so you have a little time for yourself now — enjoy it! I know it can be tough to get started on a new book, but all you need to do is take the first step. If it’s a good story, you’ll finish it in a blink, and there’s nothing more satisfying than reading a good book!

Especially because it’s the perfect opportunity for you to romanticize your entire life while drinking your favorite drinks! Think about it: sitting by the window in a cozy outfit, reading a great book and sipping the beverage of your choice. Uh, I can’t wait to do that!

3. Alexa, play Mariah Carey!

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the music. Of course you can listen to Holiday’s songs the entire year, but it just hits differently, you know? Mariah Carey really did something when she released All I Want For Christmas Is You, and we all need to agree on this one.

My biggest tip here is: make a playlist with your favorite Christmassy songs of all times, and sing your heart out to the sound of each one of them! They don’t even have to be actual Christmas songs — if a song gives you December vibes, then I now proclaim it a Christmas song!

Here’s my top 5 Holiday songs, if anyone’s interested:

  1. ‘Tis The Damn Season – Taylor Swift
  2. Last Christmas – Wham!
  3. All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey
  4. Afterglow – Ed Sheeran
  5. Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow – Dean Martin

Bonus: Champagne Problems by Taylor Swift. Sorry, I couldn’t leave this one out.

If I listen to any of these songs near Christmas time, I will become a dancing Christmas tree. Just letting you know.

4. Get the oven heated

I don’t know about you, but baking is one of the things that gives me Holiday vibes the most! I absolutely LOVE baking around this time of the year. In my head, Christmas tastes like cookies… Am I crazy, or do you feel it too?

I could tell you to bake some muffins with your family and friends, but I won’t do that, and I’ll tell you why: baking or cooking with other people gets me stressed! I love to bake by myself, it counts for ‘me time’… I turn my Christmas playlist on, and just follow the recipe, chilling with no one around telling me what to do.

I literally dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator’s light. I just happen to do that by myself — and I’m very happy about it, thank you.

5. Netflix, here we go again

I can’t even begin to explain how badly I love Netflix’s Christmas movies… You don’t understand — I’m obsessed!

Do they all have pretty much the same storyline? Yes, they do. Are they amazing and mindblowing productions? Definitely not! But I can’t picture my Christmas without them.

Every year I make a commitment to myself: watching and re-watching every single Netflix Christmas movie or show. I know, I’ve got issues… This year, I’ll be watching for the third time Merry Happy Whatever, a Netflix Christmas show starring Bridget Mendler. It’s so silly, but I can’t help but stream every single year. And it is always the same season, because they haven’t released anything new ever since the show came out.

The point is: make a list of your favorite Holiday movies, get cozy, get yourself some popcorn and start watching! I’m telling you: you won’t regret it.

6. Surround yourself with the people you love

At the end of the day, Holidays will always be about spending time with the people you love the most. It can be your family, your friends, your pets or even yourself! Just make sure you’re surrounded by people who love you and care about you. After all, this is what really matters in life, right? Finding your people.

Quality time can mean anything: you can watch a movie, bake together (just because I don’t like to do it, doesn’t mean you can’t do it), play board games, sing with the people you love… anything! Your heart will be filled up with love, and you’ll feel brand new to start 2022 the best way possible.

I really hope you’re able to enjoy this year’s Holidays! You deserve it so much! I know you did your best this year, and this is more than enough, okay?

I wish you all a Merry Christmas!
