Must Haves: #4 Products For The Winter Time

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

It’s been almost two months since winter has arrived. During the coldest time of the year our body craves for extra care, whether asking for some comfort food or demanding a little more time in bed. Our skin is one of the organs that suffers the most, since air humidity gets lower than the comfortable levels and we tend to drink less water. After one of the coldest weeks of the year, I’ve realized there are some essential beauty products that are must haves during this time of the year.

Check it out:

Cerave

This thick cream is one of the best moisturizes I have ever tried. It is fragrance free – which is great for those who suffer from rhinitis and other allergies related to smells – and it’s made specially for normal to dry skins. I use this one especially after shower, when my skin is craving for some hydration after a boost of hot water and the feeling is incredible. After applying it, the feeling is immediate: you have a soft moisturized skin uplifted with some great ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid and some essential ceramides.

Bioderma cream

If I could use a single word to describe this product it would be: lifesaver. I have a very sensible skin and my cheek is stamped by dermatitis, so when the weather is dry and temperatures are low it tends to get worse. According to Bioderma, that is the most prescripted product of the brand in France, and now I understand the reason. Its purpose is to repair, moisturize and soothe the skin.

At first sight, the color caughts the eye, ‘cause the fluid texture is kinda green. I use it as part of my morning and night skincare routine and although it may feel a little oily once it reaches the surface of your face, when the skin absorbs it the results are incredible. I also had some issues at my hands with dryness from the combination of cold weather and the intense use of alcohol in gel, and I can assure Cicabio solved my problems.

Carmex

Our lips also deserve some attention. The best thing about this product is that it regenerates chapped lips thanks to its medical properties. The first and brief feeling once you apply it – depending on how damaged your lips are – is that your mouth is burning a bit. Its mint smell is so refreshing and despite being used for healing matters, it looks incredible on the top of lipsticks.

Bepantol

It seems to me that this product is a lip balm version of CeraVe. I bought it last year to use it on my winter NYC new year’s eve trip and it was essential for my lips when the dry weather hits us hard. I usually use it overnight and the sense is that it penetrated in my lips resulting in a smooth and moisturized feeling.
