This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

The music festivals are back! After two years without these events, the world’s the biggest hits and a variety of artists were present at Lollapalooza Brasil and Rock in Rio last year.

They pleased any type of audience, with acts such as the Brazilian singer Ludmilla with brazilian funk and anti-racist speech, the British band Coldplay with wristbands which illuminated all fans at Rock in Rio and Miley Cyrus with a lot of expression and a special appearance from Anitta at the stage of Lollapalooza. Both festivals brought unforgettable moments and showed a big return to music.

If you couldn’t make it last year, don’t worry because, in 2023, we are going to have not just one, but two huge music festivals in the city of São Paulo. Lollapalooza will be the first one on March 24th, 25th and 26th at the Autódromo de Interlagos. Artists like Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Twenty One Pilots, Drake, Rosalía are performing.

The second one is the newest festival and is going to happen for the first time in 2023. Created by Rock in Rio producers, The Town will be on September 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th e 10th at the same location. Artists like Foo Fighters, Post Malone, Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars have already been confirmed for this festival in which are expected more than 235 hours of music.

So, for those of you who are going to a music festival for first time, this guide has tips on what you need to think about to prepare yourself and enjoy the event!

Finally, remind yourself that other costs beyond the tickets are personal. So put on your budget how much you’re going to spend on food, transportation and accommodation.

    Location

When we talk about location, it’s necessary to think first about your situation and how you are going to the festival. The decisions you make in this situation can chance whether you live in the city that the festival is happening or is just visiting. If you live or if it is staying in the city, it’s something that changes.

We talked to 23 year old Luane Araújo Azzi, who went to Rock in Rio last year. Living in Belo Horizonte, she decided to go by bus to Rio de Janeiro and rent an AIRBN to stay in the city during the weekend. If your situation is similar, you should decide where you are staying as soon as possible.

The options of transportation you can think about and use are a train, subway or Uber ride if you live near the region. One of the options to get to Interlagos is line 9 – emerald of CPTM near gate G of Autodromo.

    Best outfits to wear

    Being comfortable is the key

The priority for your outfit is to match comfort with style, so that you can enjoy the concerts. Don’t worry if your outfit isn’t trendy – wear what makes you more confident. If you are still undecided about it. Here are some references for you to be inspired by for your next festival!

    Invest in accessories

Whether you want a basic and casual look or a bold and modern one, accessories are a great way to complement your outfit. Body chains were one of the main items seen last year, but if you’re not a fan of this trend, opt for bracelets, a mix of necklaces, or sunglasses.

Take a coat or a jacket

São Paulo is known for unpredictable weather, so if you want to be prepared, make sure to take your jacket, for you to be free of the possibility of getting cold at night or if it rains.

5 items to have in your checklist

This topic was especially made for people who never attended a festival. So, we made a checklist of the things you can’t forget:

    1. A raincoat – an essential item, especially if you are going to São Paulo, so that how you are prepared for rain
    2. A bag with your documents is a must to have with you. Take the documents that each event requires. Don’t forget to scan all your documents for your security.
    3. Portable charger, so you have your mobile phone charged during the whole event
    4. Money, both cash and credit cards.
    5. Camera or mobile phone to take as many pictures as possible (be careful with it though!)

          And finally, don’t forget . . .
