Brazilian Carnaval is a special time of the year, full of street parties and creative costumes. However, what you may not know is that the holiday can inspire your entrepreneur spirit. Are you asking yourself how? We explain it to you!

Thinking about how we can express our creativity – and earn money with it! –, two girls answered some of Her Campus’ team questions explaining how to succeed in business at the beginning of the year. Check out their ideas and get inspired!

Beatriz Azevedo

Beatriz is graduated at Belas Artes University in Fashion Design e  confessed she never did something like that before: she created a kit specially for Carnaval – composed by a lot of glitter, confete, deodorant and eye lashes, everything for you to take to your favourite “bloquinho”.

“I started to think about it when I started an entrepreneur course at beginning of the year and the teacher gave the students a mark during one of our classes. I though the kits would be an interesting idea, it was something I had interesting”, says Bia.

Crazy about Carnaval, people always asked Bia how she made her looks so nice and where she bought all of the things she wore.

“I’ve always helped my friends when it comes to costume ideas and makeup, so I realised the kit would be successful if I started to sell it.  Now I take 20 minutes to put up each kit: the secret is to distribute the items in a better way”, she tells.

If you are asking what is she going to do with the money, the answer is also about business! “I’m going to use the money from the sale to expand my business of 3D printing and to do a course of technological fabric”, says Bia.

Isadora Almeida

Isadora is a Journalism Senior at Casper Libero and is a success at social media with her handmade themed tiaras – that can be of unicorns, mermaids or flowers.

“I’ve always been crazy about Carnaval costumes! So at the beginning of the year I decided to buy all the items I needed to start making the tiaras”, she says.

The time to put up each tiara depends of the model: the flower is super simple, however the unicorn usually takes 10 minutes and the mermaid 30 minutes.

“Since I’m an intern at Elle magazine I could sell a lot of at Abril [Elle’s publishing]. Also because of the tiaras I got the chance to appear at one of the Capricho’s videos, it was really nice!”, she confessed.

Besides that, she is also helping her mother do sell tutus – just like the ballerinas ones. The idea came up with her family, since they work at the area. A real entrepreneur!

Anna is a 21 year old from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who studies Journalism at Casper Libero University. She’s currently the Editor in Chief of Her Campus CL's Chapter and is pretty obsessed with fashion, beauty and (trashy) reality TV shows.
