Having intense contact with nature, you’d probably feel the most adventurous person facing this experience. However, camping can no longer be considered as a rudimentary activity in which you will probably feel uncomfortable and will be bitten by various insects that will make you angry, if it is your first time performing this activity.

In addition to nature and adventure, there is a new option that contributes to sustainability, but now with comfort and glamour! That’s right. This is Glamping (corruption of glamor camping), an accommodation that is very successful abroad, and has become an option for many people in Brazil, especially during the pandemic. Glamping has a good bed, electricity, running water, among other comforts of modern life; but with an immersion in nature. Each owner prints a different idea, but generally the idea is the same. It’s an unmissable experience for anyone who enjoys contact with nature!

Her Campus Cásper Líbero talked with Taty and Gutto, creators of the travel channel Mapa Carimbado, to better understand how this experience is. Want to learn more about Glamping? Check out tips for venturing into this type of accommodation!

The essence of Glamping! What’s new?

In a geodesic dome built by the owners in their backyard, Taty and Gutto spent two very comfortable nights at Glamping Casinha de Hortelã, located in Serra da Canastra, in Delfinópolis-MG.

The structure has a transparent part, where you can open the curtain and enjoy the beauty of the family’s well-kept backyard, as well as the starry sky – or super sunny – which allows you to have even more direct contact with nature. There were also rainy nights that, falling into that structure, echo and feel even more relaxed.

They enjoyed air conditioning, running hot water and other comforts of modern life without losing the immersive contact with nature. And that defines the concept of hosting well. We love and intend to meet others in Brazil and around the world. Ah! The owners guided us about the tours available in the region and were very helpful during our stay.

Which Negative Points Can Happen At A Glamping?

Taty and Gutto stayed at the place for 3 days and two nights, enjoying safety and comfort, in addition to the mega different experience that made them escape their comfort zone. However, the couple observed not very good points in Glamping, among them, the distance. The location is further away from the city, which requires its own or rented transport, in the case of this Glamping specifically, which is located in Serra da Canastra; to access it, it is necessary to take a long stretch of dirt road or a ferry.

However, booking a Glamping will depend on your travel style. If your interest is just to enjoy the accommodation, without other tours; find a very comfortable place and always read the opinions of other travelers about access, safety and comfort of the place. Assessments can help a lot. If your interest is touring the region, find out if the location is favorable for overnight travel. You can often arrive later from a tour. It is important to know if it is necessary to take groceries, or if there is food delivery in the region.

How Can I Do My Own Glamping?

Sometimes building your own Glamping can be a not so easy task. Although it seems simple, to ensure comfort and still collaborate with sustainability, you will need some help to build this type of accommodation, as Taty and Gutto claim.

“Honestly, it’s something that requires a lot of study time. There are several structures and formats of glampings, but one item is essential: comfort. If you don’t know how to pipe water or install electricity, it might be better to enlist the help of a professional. If you are curious to meet a Glamping, play! It’s a unique experience and a lot of immersion with nature and with yourself. And if you are with someone else, surely your connection becomes even stronger during this experience!”

But make no mistake, there are other alternatives to creating a Glamping! On the internet there are many inspirations on how we can create our own experience with nature in a glamorous way. Just unleash your creativity and experience this different and fun way to camp.
