The Slovak singer is only receiving recognition now, at 22 years old, with her music and dancing, but her career actually started early. At just three years old, she began ballet classes, and by age nine, she had already taught herself fluent English. Adéla moved several times to further her career, having joined the Vienna State Ballet, then London, and finally Los Angeles to participate in the reality show that created KATSEYE.
Despite the singer’s frustration over her early elimination from the show, it served as fuel to focus on her solo career, and in September 2024 she released her first single “Homewrecked“. A few months later, she released “Superstar“, and named the track she made with singer Grimes “Machine Girl“. The latter earned her the praise of “reigning future pop star” from Grimes herself.
Then, in May 2025, a lot changed for her career: the artist signed with Capitol Records and Polydor Records. Now under the majors’ banner, she released “Death By Devotion“, followed by the single “SexOnTheBeat“. In the same year, Adéla published her first EP, The Provocateur, which inspired the name of her first tour, The ProvocaTour, kicking off in October.
Beyond that, a major career milestone was her participation in Demi Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Tour, which took place between April and May 2026. That whole journey has enriched Adéla and fueled her drive to become pop’s next prima ballerina.
THE NEXT PRIMA
The search for belonging is something that always comes up, including in an interview with MTV, where she explains how growing up will be present on her upcoming album, PRIMA, announced after her first solo tour sold out in minutes. The record drops on September 4th via Polydor Records.
The album is produced by Dylan Brady and Blake Slatkin. “Ain’t In LA“, one of the tracks featured on the record, is driven by heavy bass and tells the story of Adéla’s journey since leaving Slovakia in pursuit of her dream of becoming a pop star. The inspiration for the song came during a visit to her family’s home, when she saw a photo of her mother at 18 years old, hanging on a wall covered in pop culture posters.
“My grandfather brought those posters from Germany, smuggled in like contraband. It made me think about how many talented girls out there have dreams but may never get the recognition they deserve, just like what happened to my mom. I wrote this song for her, and for all those women“, Adéla shares.
Beyond that, PRIMA is framed as a collection that leans into the complexities of her age, eschewing a single mood in favour of something more conflicted. The songwriter explains that she wants this album to capture what it feels like to be a 22-year-old girl. Staying true to that theme, the record lyrically examines insecurities, toxic relationships, and broader themes of identity and autonomy.
The record’s title carries a dual meaning for an artist who began her career in ballet. While it translates as “first” to signal her debut, it also invokes the ranking of the lead dancer in a company, the prima ballerina. “I’m trying to be the prima ballerina of pop, and this is my first step to achieve that“, Jergová explains.
Her desire is already coming true following her fully crowded performance at Lollapalooza Chicago 2026, she received praise from fans online and from her KATSEYE friends Lara Raj and Megan Skiendiel, who posted on their social media, moved, congratulating Adéla.
