The Oscar was one of the few events that managed to circumvent the impediments of the pandemic. Deciding to postpone the ceremony for the month of April, the Academy was able to celebrate the award live, only with the nominees and at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles. This was the first event that requested that guests appeared 100% presencially. Others like The Grammys and Golden Globe Awards accepted appearances via teleconference.
Like every year, the awards’ red carpets were a showcase of haute couture, diverse styles and cultural expression. In 2021 it was no different. Even with the social exclusion measures, celebrities managed to deliver brilliant looks. Literally brilliant, as several combinations featured metallic details and abundant jewelery in brightly colored clothing.
