One of the most awaited artists of the year, Abel Tesfaye, known as The Weeknd by the public, returned to Brazil to perform three concerts of his new After Hours Til Dawn Tour. On October 7th, the singer performed in Rio de Janeiro and the following days, 10 and 11, in São Paulo with a spectacular structure and production. Being a huge fan of this artist, I selected the best five moments from his visit to the country!

Hurricane x the hills

It certainly can be classified as one of the best transitions in show business. The Weeknd was a genius when he combined “Hurricane” featuring Kanye West and Lil Baby with the famous hit “The Hills” in the setlist. The two songs and the special light effects drove the audience crazy!

the famous pop partnership is alive!

Brazil won! The singer chose his first feat with Ariana Grande, “Love Me Harder”, to join the setlist, surprising the fans in the Rio concert. The song hadn’t been performed since 2016! Even with the pouring rain, the audience and the singer were excited about the moment. Ariana Grande posted a story of it on her Instagram account. (We want new collabs, please!)

“cabaré, cabaré, cabaré”

Abel’s Brazilian personality is more than real! The artist got to know the famous parody of his song “Earned it”, the version “Vem Pro Cabaré ” from DJ Guuga. As soon as he arrived in Brazil, The Weeknd posted an Instagram story about it! He liked it so much that he even tried to sing the lyrics in his performance, saying the word “Cabaré”.

DJ Guuga, responsible for using the song sample, was invited by the staff to attend the São Paulo concert.

Abel, brazil loves you!

After three intense shows, the artist got emotional when he was cheered by his fans that were as thrilled as him to see their idol. At the last concert in the country, Abel was impressed by them.

surprise!

Beyond the performance of “Love Me Harder”, The Weeknd also added “In The Night”, “Pray For Me” and “False Alarm” in the setlist, which had more than 40 songs and were followed successfully by the artist.

BONUS: BRAZILIAN THE WEEKND

The singer’s Brazilian cover, Marcos Kennedy, shocked not only the artist’s fans, but also The Weeknd himself. On his arrival, the singer posted a video of him on Instagram.

The resemblance between both impressed the fans when Marcos arrived at the concert!
