5 Beaches You Should Visit in Brazil

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

Full of beautiful rainforests, waterfalls and beaches, the variety of natural beauty in Brazil is one of the things that makes the country so unique. In this huge and extended place, there are so many beaches you can visit to enjoy the beauty and have fun. Here are some of the most beautiful ones!

Canoa Quebrada, Ceará

In the Northeast of Brazil, on the state of Ceará, we find the stunning beach “Canoa Quebrada”, located in about half an hour from the capital, Fortaleza. The difference of this place is definitely the dunes and reddish cliffs. Those are about 30 meters above sea level.

The landscape is breathtaking and the small beach is really peaceful. A lot of beaches around Fortaleza have those dunes and some people like going through them with buggies or doing “skiing” in the sand. Fortaleza is well known because of a famous water park named “Beach Park”, which is really fun, but it’s also interesting to get out and discover the beaches around it.

Pipa, Rio Grande do Norte

Still in the Northeast, we have a beach called Pipa and it’s located only 85 kilometers from the capital, Natal. It is one of the places you can’t miss if you visit there. Chosen by families and surfers as a good beach to spend time and with a lot of waves, in Pipa you can relax while enjoying the beautiful view.

Characterized by the famous dunes like Fortaleza, in Pipa you can ride a buggy too. You can also dive to see the fishes or see the dolphins while spending time at the boat.

Maragogi, Alagoas

Maragogi is a famous destination in Brazil. Known by its warm and clear water, which ensures a stunning landscape and a pleasant tour to all visitors, it’s said to be the “Brazil’s Caribbean”.

If you go to the city of Maragogi, you can find many bars and restaurants to enjoy a little bit of the night after spending the day at the beach.

Ilha do Japonês, Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro

Even though there are amazing beaches to see in capital of Rio de Janeiro, if you drive only 3 hours you will find other incredible places as well. Ilha do Japonês is one of those places. It can be considered an Island and it’s a “piece” of a florest inside the channel of Itajuru.

The quiet ocean and the natural beauty of the place makes it really unique. There are some kiosks selling food and drinks, and it’s nice to enjoy that and relax.

 Praia do Gunga, Alagoas

Near to the capital Maceió, “Praia do Gunga” is a little paradise, with an stunning ocean and incredible landscape. There, you can find many different things to do.

You can go on a ride to see the barrier of reefs or do sports like flyboard, banana boat and jet ski. It’s also fun to ride a buggy or quadricycle to see the beautiful cliffs. It is definitely a beach you should spend more than one day to enjoy everything about it.
