This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Casper Libero chapter.

Ahh TV shows…They make us laugh, cry, fall in love, hate it and even make us create discussions in the society about some subjects (like 13 Reasons Why). They are even more popular now,  with the streaming services (Netflix, for example), but they are present since the 50’s! Besides the current series are addicting, let’s remember a good selection (of very hard choices) of the 10 best TV shows from the 00’s.

Gilmore Girls

Based on the relationship between Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), the serie debuted in 2000 and the last episode was shown in 2007. Mother and daughter live at Stars Hollow, in Connecticut, a small town located 30 minutes from Hartford, the state’s capital. The series explores a lot of themes such as family, friendship, many conflicts and social classes.

Smallville

“Somebody saaave me…” is the first thing that comes to our minds when we hear about Smallville. The Show that was on TV between 16 October 2001 and 13 May 2011, is based on the DC Comic Superman’s character, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. It tells the trajectory of Clark Kent (Tom Welling), who lives in Smallville, in the state of Kansas, as a normal kid with superpowers. The idea of the series is to show how his life would be like if the spaceship would fall at the earth at the present time, mixing modernity from the twenty-one century with old values. A lot of heroes and bad guys appeared in the story.

That’s so Raven

Who doesn’t remember of laughing hard with the messes of Raven? That’s So Raven was a series show from Disney Channel, and it tells the story of the teenager Raven Baxter (Raven-Symoné), who has the power to predict the future. She and her best friends, Chelsea Daniels (Anneliese Van der Pol) and Eddie Thomas (Orlando Brown), have a lot fun with moments when things get out of control.

The series was on TV from January 2003 until November of 2007, but a spin-off, with the title “Raven’s Home” was showed in July of this year only in the USA. At the spin-off, Raven has two kids and Nia, her daughter, has her powers as well. Let’s hope this episode comes to Brazil.
