Club Fun

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Case chapter.

The college experience is what you make of it.  At Case we have the unique ability to shape our lives; for example with free transportation to downtown Cleveland, a fun night out on the town is only 20 minutes away.  The museums on campus present the opportunity to walk through medieval times or look at fossils from a prehistoric era and the fitness resources allow us to pursue aerobic and cardiovascular lifestyles.  Taking advantage of Case’s location and getting involved in the previously mentioned activities is great and fun, but it can lead to overshadowing of great organizations to get involved with on campus.  So, when if you find that you have free time to spend and want to get involved with something that doesn’t involve yoga, playhouse square, or suits of armor; check out these organizations!

Flight Club.

For full disclosure, the first rule of flight club isn’t “Don’t talk about flight club.”  Co founder of the organization, Justo Karrell, states that the idea  “…Just came to me because I was an aerospace engineer at the time, I’ve built mini helicopters before and it was fun and interesting so i figured, ‘why not teach kids to do the same?’ programs where college kids come by and fly helicopters and airplanes around is fun and cool and all but it does not stick nearly as much actually building one.”

A member of the class of 2017 at Case Western Reserve University by way of your not so typical New England boarding school, Jeep Madison is double majoring in communication sciences and english with a minor in political science.  He is a brother of the fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, and a member of the Spartan football team.  A self proclaimed feminist, he feels very strongly about current events surrounding domestic violence and the integration of women into traditionally male social realms.  With so much indecision on what the future holds, Jeep is currently an aspiring trophy husband.
