Jordan Genovese is a budding musician and our campus’s very own rock star. She’s as busy as any typical Case student, but when she’s not working at the Jolly Scholar, volunteering at Rainbow Babies or spending time with her Alpha Phi sisters, Jordan can be found pursuing her passion: music.

It all started in a high school songwriting class, where Jordan was inspired by her peers to put her emotions into music. Since then, she has taught herself how to play guitar, played in a band with friends and developed enough songs to release her very own album: Green November. “It includes a lot about the last four years of my life: It encompasses the way I’ve grown as a writer and as an artist,” Jordan says.

While trucking through the pre-medicine curriculum, like so many of us here at Case, Jordan makes time to play her music for as many audiences as possible. On campus, she’s performed at Spot Nights and was an opener for The Maine at last year’s Springfest. When not playing on campus, she can be found playing at various venues in the Cleveland area.

So how does this third-year Medical Anthropology major balance it all? “Coffee– a lot of coffee,” Jordan says. “I love how hectic life can be, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The future for Jordan Genovese remains a mystery -she could either be pre-med or pre-rockstar. “I either hope to pursue music full-time, or go to medical school and become a doctor. At this point, I would love to do both,” she says.

Whether she ends up onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards or as doctor delivering babies, we’re sure she’ll do great things. “These are the golden years,” she says, “ and if I don’t follow my passions now, then when will I have the chance?”
